Even on its first record "L'Escapade" (1974), Mona Lisa appeared as a dedicated follower of the theatrical, emotional and melodramatic rock created by Ange. The emphasis, the sensibility, the vocal subtlety of Dominique Le Guennec goes beyond the usual style. He "lives" his lyrics and surprises the listener by performing an expressive and suggestive music that evoke Genesis.
"L'Ombre Et La Lumière" is Mona Lisa's comeback. This 1998 album shows a music that has remained as expressive, poetic, melodramatic and suggestive as ever.

Сompared with their previous albums, the purpose seems gone and the succession of them is simply not cutting the mustard with this proghead. While two tracks are instrumental, most of the other songs lack LeGuennec's vocals to give it that typical ML touch…

"Grimaces" (1975) exhibits a more extroverted colorfulness, even aiming at the build-up of merry-go-round atmospheres in many places. If Pierson's use of organ and synthesizers in the debut effort was close to a "B"-horror movie with heavy Gothic undertones, now the keyboard layers and solos tend to become festive…

It is the most famous painting in the world, created by the hand of a genius, marveled at by millions every year in the Louvre in Paris. But could there be a second Mona Lisa? In 1913, an interesting portrait surfaced. It depicts a younger Mona Lisa in a slightly different setting and it's left unfinished: the so-called "Isleworth Mona Lisa." Is this the earlier version? There are only two contemporary references to the painting from the 15th century and both suggest da Vinci could have painted the woman in the masterpiece more than once.
