Vocalist Sherri Roberts brings the joy and promise of new beginnings with twelve standards, that offer a spring theme with her 2017 release, Anybody's Spring. Selections come from the jazz compositions of Clifford Brown and Tadd Dameron to the standard and not-so-standard fare of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Hoagy Carmichael, and Blossom Dearie favorite Bob Haymes, the set list is a spring lover's dream come true. The San Francisco based singer is a passionate, expressive singer whose emotive prominence never supersedes her musicality.

Like the season it describes, there's something magical about Anybody's Spring, the latest from Bay Area vocalist Sherri Roberts and her fifth leader date. These songs reap the benefits of personal experience, as Sherri has sung them in spring-themed performances for the past two decades. Swinging from the jazz compositions of Clifford Brown and Tadd Dameron to the standard and not-so-standard fare of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Hoagy Carmichael and Blossom Dearie favorite Bob Haymes, the set list is a spring lover's dream come true. It's Anybody's Spring establishes a tone, in which the verdant colors of Sherri's voice her balance of depth and shine, the comforting embrace of her vibrato are immediately evident.

When they moved to Flatbush - Brooklyn, they began writing this new album, South From Here. Their building is shaken by the block parties and the sound of the rap producers who celebrate and compose on every floor. Community parades and helicopter overflights are daily. So many sounds that find a voice in this new album. Recorded in Tel Aviv, Ruth's texts attempt to translate the blindness in which the Israeli society definitely sinks. The result of this long and painful process is a mixture of pessimism and acceptance that they sum up with these words: "Life is Beautiful".

Three works inspired by Spring – Stravinsky’s iconic and revolutionary 1913 ballet The Rite of Spring depicts Russian pagan tribes celebrating the emergence of Spring with frenzied dances and ritual sacrifice. The music has a rhythmic complexity and violence that caused a riot to break out at its premier in Paris. Rachmaninov’s Spring Cantata tells the story of a husband who has struggled through the harsh Russian winter knowing his wife has been having an affair with a younger man. He swears he will kill them, but on seeing the wonder of spring all around him, relents and forgives them both.
