Género Chica de Diana Navarro, es un disco en el que la artista nos ofrece su particular visión de un género musical como es la Zarzuela, y con el que cierra una trilogía sobre la investigación y fusión de algunas de nuestras músicas con más raíz. Este proyecto dió comienzo con su disco Camino verde (Copla - 2008), continuó con su anterior trabajo de Flamenco (2011) y se cierra con este "Género Chica" (Zarzuela), un género que aún siendo anterior a los otros dos engloba todo a la vez, la similitud en letras, melodías y armonías, que junto con la grandeza del sonido y un concepto de producción sinfónico y lirico gracias a la maestría y dirección musical de Miguel Angel Collado.
When musicians of our generation seek to provide musical depictions of the pilgrimages to St. James of Compostela, they turn most frequently to the Middle Ages. The La Fenice ensemble, however, has chosen a different approach by taking a map of the Camino Francès (1648) as its inspiration. Here they bring formal as well as popular repertoire of the time back to life with songs both sacred and secular, combining these with the joyfully festive music that accompanied the travellers from France to Galicia via Languedoc, Aragon and Castile.
Andreas Pevernage (1542/3–1591) is best remembered today as the choirmaster of Antwerp Cathedral and as the composer of several picture motets that are now classified as masterpieces of Flemish culture. Whilst Pevernage spent his entire professional career in Flanders, which may well have contributed to his music being less well known today, he was nonetheless considered as the equal of Orlandus Lassus, Clemens non Papa and Giaches de Wert during his lifetime: the quality of his music is in no wise inferior to the works of his more famous contemporaries.
Soprano Francesca Aspromonte and violinist Boris Begelman present an all-Handel programme exploring the vicissitudes of love, together with Arsenale Sonoro. On Un’alma innamorata, Aspromonte urges us to take ownership of our amorous infatuations, rather than blaming it on Cupid’s arrows. The programme consists of several worldly cantatas with violino concertante – including the famous Mi palpita il cor and a world premiere recording of S’un dì m’appaga la mia crudele – interspersed with instrumental sonatas. The overall chamber-musical approach of Un’alma innamorata increases the emotional impact of the tragic heroines depicted by Aspromonte.
