"Profit" is the 4th album of all-star prog rock band The Jelly Jam. The band consists of Ty Tabor of King's X on guitar, keyboards, and vocals; Rod Morgenstein of The Dixie Dregs and Winger on drums and keyboards; and John Myung of Dream Theater on bass, moog, and Chapman stick.
In order to create the musical landscape of the album, the trio recorded a tremendous amount of music, which included a lot of experimentation. The band then pulled together 12 songs that, while individually different, cohesively create a strong musical sound bed for the story line. The musical careers of the band members, from an individual standpoint, highlight a collection of diverse influences…

Bongo Rock is a 2006 compilation CD by The Incredible Bongo Band. Started by Michael Viner, his albums were nothing more than cover versions of well known songs along with a few original pieces, all complimented by someone playing mean bongo rhythms over it. Normally, it would be a weird part of thrift store ephemera but that was it. However, their cover of "Apache" would become a very important staple in the early movement of what we now know as hip-hop due to the drum break, which moved a lot of people in clubs and basketball courts to breakdance. Others discovered songs on their albums were just as funky. This was released by Mr. Bongo Recordings.

In 1967, when teenaged prodigy Steve Winwood left the Spencer Davis Group (for whom he'd sung lead on hits like "Gimme Some Lovin'" and "I'm a Man") to start a new band with guitarist Dave Mason, few observers thought their idea of blending pop, rock, and jazz would work. Immediately, though, Traffic scored giant UK hits with Winwood's east-meets-west "Paper Sun" and Mason's acid-jazzy "Hole in My Shoe." Between those songs, the smoking-guitar driven title track, the swinging instrumental "Giving to You" and the haunting ballad, "No Face, No Name, No Number," Traffic's debut established both players as elite members of the new guard of late 60s British rock. Traffic was an English rock band whose members came from the West Midlands. The group formed in April 1967 by Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Chris Wood and Dave Mason. They began as a psychedelic rock group whose early singles were influenced by The Beatles,[citation needed] and diversified their sound through the use of instruments such as keyboards like the Mellotron and harpsichord, sitar, and various reed instruments, and by incorporating jazz and improvisational techniques in their music. Their first three singles were "Paper Sun", "Hole in My Shoe", and "Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush".

Joe Strummer once claimed that the Clash had stardom in their hands, then they dropped it on the floor and broke it. Pearl Jam took the opposite tact: they purposely left stardom behind. Nirvana may have ushered in the age of grunge and alternative rock, but Pearl Jam were the biggest band in the land during the first half of the '90s, dominating radio airwaves, MTV, and college dorms alike. Most bands would have embraced such widespread acclaim, but the quintet bristled at this vein, and started to restlessly explore new musical territory, a move that eventually whittled their fan base down to just the hardcore by the beginning of the next decade.
