Musical Instruments of The Bible

"The Bible" catalogue number PGCD007, is my sixth solo album release (or seventh if you include the gospel album "The Life Of God In The Soul Of Man"), and my third album release with worldwide distribution company White Knight Records.

The trumpet has a curious fate. On the one hand, it is one of the oldest instruments created by humankind, and, with its many variants (in shape, matter, size and sound) it is found in most cultures through time and space.

Nonesuch Records releases the Magnetic Fields’ 50 Song Memoir on March 3 March 10, 2017. The five-CD / five-LP set chronicles the 50 years of songwriter Stephin Merritt’s life with one song per year; it was produced by Stephin Merritt with additional production by Thomas Bartlett and Charles Newman. On tour, the Magnetic Fields perform the 50 Song Memoir over two nights per city, beginning tomorrow and Saturday, November 18 and 19, at MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA, and continuing at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) on December 2 and 3.

This recording was made in the Church of San Marco in Milan on 16 October 2016, within the 2014-15 institutional season of the Mozart Italy-Milan Association. Despite the imperfections that this type of recording entails, in an era of studio recordings, the uniqueness of the document combined with the rare artistic quality made it possible to decide to keep the original sound. In collaboration with CEriMus: "National Committee for the revival of basic musical education in every grade and order of school (r)".

Canadian composer Brian Current’s The Seven Heavenly Halls is the result of his being declared winner of the inaugural Azrieli Commission in September 2015. The work premiered on October 19, 2016 at the Maison symphonique by the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal with tenor Frederic Antoun as soloist and Kent Nagano conducting.
