Violinist, arranger and artistic producer Jacky Molard has taken part in many musical adventures that have marked the history of Breton music over the last thirty years. In 2006, with Erik Marchand and Bertrand Dupont, he created the Label Innacor and the same quartet with Hélène Labarrière (double bass), Yannick Jory (saxophones) and Janick Martin (accordion).
JUNO-nominated Canadian jazz quartet, Peripheral Vision launches their fourth album, More Songs About Error And Shame. "A rules-breaking quartet made up of some of the best modern players around" (CBC), Peripheral Vision extends their no-holds-barred performance aesthetic into the production concept on this album. Once again, they have teamed up with mad-scientist engineer, Jean Martin (Barnyard Records) to orchestrate a bigger sound for the record, adding layers of overdubs and studio treatments to the live-off-the-floor recordings. Peripheral Vision has always been a live show band, and the seven new Herring and Scott originals on More Songs About Error And Shame show what can be gained from years of touring, including three recent tours throughout Europe as well as many trips across Canada.

That record put to rest rumours that the Montreal outfit was about to give up the ghost after three decades and some startling losses: Fomr the death of founding guitarist Denis "Piggy" D'Amour in 2005 to the departure of original bassist Jean-Yves Theriault in 2014 to pursue his own project, Coeur Atomique. The quality taste the band gave us on the five track Post Society EP of 2016 whet the appetite for this date. (It and a handful of live cuts are included on a bonus disk.)
The names of both Parallel Worlds and Dave Bessell should be very familiar by now to followers of the DiN ambient electronica label. Bakis Sirros (aka Parallel Worlds) has two solo albums, Obsessive Surrealism, Shade as well as collaborations with DiN label boss Ian Boddy on Exit Strategy and most recently World Adapter with Self Oscillate (Ingo Zobel). Bessell on the other hand has a single solo album Black Horses Of The Sun as well as his contributions to the two synth supergroup Node releases (Node 2 & Node Live). Of course the duo have already collaborated before on their 2012 album, “Morphogenic” and “Dystopia” sees these two musicians continue their sonic dialogue…
