Algerian-native, Karima Nayt, is a more traditionally-inclined Kabyle singer than her fellow countrywoman, Iness Mezel. The folkish, fl uid melodies are interrupted by nomadic guitars and upbeat percussion spanning North Africa s camel routes, France s guitar music, and the vocal melisma of Ofra Haza. Karima s mature voice fl oats effortlessly across the tracks with a bit of reservation to allow the instruments some room to expand on the vocal patterns. The sincerity in Karima s voice resembles the same clarity as Souad Massi with the sensuality of France s Carla Bruni. At any rate, Karima s songs are heartfelt, classic, and timeless. The thirteen tracks span Karima s eclectic and linguistic ethnic background. Some of the songs are reminiscent of Spanish, South American, or Portuguese-type music with a strong, classical- -almost fadoesque- presence. Nevertheless, the music is not a fusion project, but a wonderful journey through the Folk music traditions of Algeria s infamous Mediterranean coastline.

Fabriclive 99 is full of unreleased and exclusive material (just one out of the 32 tracks isn't new) and features 15 of DJ Q's own original tracks. Across house, UK garage and bassline, you'll hear new music from Todd Edwards, The Heatwave, Swindle and TQD, his trio with Flava D and Royal T. 99 will serve as a follow-up to his 2014 album for Local Action, Ineffable.
The UK DJ and producer will celebrate the July 20th release with a with a three-hour set in fabric's Room One on the 13th, joining a stacked lineup of grime and garage artists.

This album features music inspired by and performed during a concert tour that Q'd Up and several BYU students made to five Russian cities during the fall of 2017. Q'd Up has a unique and infectious sound that is a product of the personalities of the players, the arrangements and compositions of Steve Lindeman and Jay Lawrence and Kelly Eisenhour, the blend of a wide variety of sounds and styles stemming from the impressive versatility of each of the group members, and the energy and synergy that come with the love of the music and of each other. Q'd Up has existed in various incarnations since 1983 and has established itself as a musical force in Utah and the West.

For almost everyone, the entry point for discovering the music of Q Lazzarus came via “Goodbye Horses.” The song first appeared in 1988, via Jonathan Demme’s Married to the Mob, but it would not become fully lodged into popular consciousness until it infamously materialized again in Demme’s The Silence of the Lambs in 1991. “Goodbye Horses” felt like a self-contained universe – dreamlike and wholly unusual, an instant classic that left listeners captivated and curious about the mysterious voice behind it. That voice belonged to Diane Luckey, a uniquely talented artist whose music was ahead of its time and who would ultimately remain largely unrecognized in her lifetime. In conjunction with the release of Aridjis Fuentes’ documentary film Goodbye Horses: The Many Lives of Q Lazzarus, Sacred Bones is releasing a collection of songs that span the entirety of Q’s career, showcasing the different eras of her work and the full breadth of her personality. Released in collaboration with the family of Q, it has the distinction of being her first and only full-length release.

Two CD collection featuring the ten original album tracks plus all the related bonus material, sourced and mastered from the original analogue tapes from the Atlantic archives.
