Violinist Marie Nadeau-Tremblay presents Preludes et solitudes, a very personal album of pieces for solo unaccompanied violin by Baroque composers such as Telemann, Purcell, Torelli, Baltzar and Biber. The booklet for Preludes et solitudes includes Nadeau-Tremblay's poems inspired by each piece she selected for the program, and the album cover is a self-portrait by the violinist, who is also an accomplished visual artist.

Known for its daring and youthful performances, the ensemble Les Barocudas makes its ATMA Classique recording debut with La Peste, a musical journey that explores the theme of the plague. The members of the Montreal-based trio, Marie Nadeau-Tremblay (violin), Ryan Gallagher (viola da gamba), and Nathan Mondry (harpsichord), have compiled a program in which each piece corresponds with an episode or aspect of this 17th century pandemic.

Obsession is the fascinating theme of violinist Marie Nadeau-Tremblay‘s new album. She is joined by Mélisande Corriveau (viola da gamba), Eric Milnes (harpsichord and organ), and Kerry Bursey (tenor and lute).

« L’obsession » est le thème fascinant du nouvel album de la violoniste Marie Nadeau-Tremblay. Elle est accompagnée par Mélisande Corriveau (viole de gambe), Eric Milnes (clavecin et orgue) et Kerry Bursey (ténor et luth).Les œuvres de cet album présentent des caractéristiques obsessionnelles : un thème et ses variations (« La Furstemberg » de Louis-Robert Guillemain, La Folia, Une jeune fillette), une ligne de basse continue répétée (les pièces de Dietrich Buxtehude et de Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber), ou un thème de rondo envoûtant qui revient sans cesse de manière obsédante (François Francœur).
