Pack your bags, let's travel back in time; 30 years, to the good old times of Hard Rock. With "One More For The Road" THE NEW ROSES manage to take this leap in time with absolute serenity. They outclass the bulk of the erstwhile top of the scene! With phenomenal hearty hymns like the first single "Every Wild Heart", "Forever Never Comes" or the second single for the track "Life Aint Easy (For A Boy With Long Hair)“, these guys from Wiesbaden share a feeling of stepping into endless freedom. It's nothing more than overwhelming how shattering their riff tornados rip through the body. Singer Timmy Rough churns out the power of David Lee Roth while his instrumental forces deliver the distinct and raw rock'n'roll of Guns N' Roses next to the tightness of AC/DC.

Who, you might be asking? OK, so Americans may regard Southern California’s revivalists of powerful melodic punk *Face To Face *as something of a punk rock institution but over on this side of the pond their tumultuous ten-year career is more viewed as a punk rock travesty. For despite touring incessantly throughout the states and putting out consistently well written and well-received albums throughout the nineties, headlining venues up to 3000 capacity the band still had not released anything in Europe.

Unlike other labels subjected to exhaustive multi-disc retrospectives like this whopping ten-disc Revolutions in Sound: Warner Bros. Records – The First Fifty Years, Warner Brothers never embodied a scene or sound: they've always embodied what a major label should be – a dominant force that chronicles and dictates the sound of the mainstream. Coming out at the tail-end of 2008, when the influence of major labels is on a slow steady decline, Revolutions in Sound can be seen as a portrait of a time that's beginning to recede into the past: a time when there was such a thing as mass entertainment, when the pop audience all shared a common bond of hit records they either loved or rallied against. Perhaps the greatest things about this monumental box set is that it captures that colossus while also illustrating that for a while, majors did take risks. Of course, Warner was the riskiest of all the majors, never held back by an anti-rock & roll sourpuss like Mitch Miller, who struggled to keep CBS out of the tumult of the '60s (this with no less than Bob Dylan as the label's flagship rock artist). Instead, Warner embraced the underground, recording some of the strangest to shake out of the '60s, and that adventure fits a label that turned to rock & roll to help establish themselves as a real player at the turn of the '60s.

A kind of chamber jazz with voice, on texts by Agota Kristof adapted by Christine Roillet. The voice speaks of life in its happy or anguished forms: to love, to dream, to die. Geraldine Keller says, professes, speaks, sings and overflows to the limits of the vocal improvisation. Plurality of themes, sometimes recurring, between melancholic waltz and languorous vertigo, expressionist effects of progressive rock and atonal lines. Sometimes I dream that I hear an echo of "Cinq Hops", by Jacques Thollot, in 1978 (which is not to displease me!). The whole is deployed in the form of a suite where the soloists, in turn, are offered a field of expression. Many contrasts, often more nuanced than abrupt.
