Beyond Saturn is a collection of cosmic tunes that wilfully cut across time, space and, indeed, genres. 15 mindblowing cosmic tracks approved personally by Paul Weller, including Panda Bear, TOY, Public Service Broadcasting, Neu!, Charles Mingus, Ryley Walker, Syd Arthur and more.

Solo includes Michael’s first four solo projects, Flammende Herzen, Sterntaler, Katzenmusik and Fernwärme, a Soundtracks and a Remixes & Live album (only with the vinyl boxset). Speaking about the release, Michael said: ‘I’m incredibly excited to announce my new boxset ‘Solo’. The opportunity to release my first four solo albums, as well as some new music in one package is amazing. This is a body of work that I’m very proud of.’

The expected diversity of these compilations is given again. No matter if it is the Petards, who founded the fundaments for Krautrock already in the late 60's, or Straight Shooter with their early 80's hard-rock, each kind of music is present. Electronic music with Neu!, Cluster, Tangerine Dream, Faust and Michael Rother turns to pure psychedelic like Guru Guru, Brainticket or Nine Days Wonder. Composer John Cage (1912-1992) is one of the classical world’s best known experimental composers and theorists. Electronic Music for Piano is one of Cage’s least known pieces because the score is among his most enigmatic and consequently, there are few commercial recordings of it. Written in Stockholm in 1964 on hotel letterhead, the notes ask the performer to select parts from his Music for Piano 4-84 and use electronic equipment. Everything else is up to the artist’s discretion. Enter Tania Chen, the U.K.-based pianist who has become a revered and leading interpreter of Cage’s work. Recording in both London and Berkeley, CA, Chen joined forces with Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), David Toop (former member of The Flying Lizards, and recording artist on Brian Eno’s Obscure label) and Jon Leidecker (aka Wobbly, who has also worked with Negativland) to create a new version of this piece helmed by Gino Robair composer, musician, and scholar.

Official Release #93. Conceived, Composed & Produced by Frank Zappa. The two-disc compilation of alternative takes titled Understanding America is intended for devoted fans only. It's scattershot material, tied together loosely by one theme: Zappa's acerbic mistrust of American culture. Throughout the '60s, '70s, and '80s, social satire made up a huge amount of his catalog, so Big Brother, media outlets, organized religion, and recreational drugs are all subject to attack here. The gold nugget is the unreleased 25-minute "Porn Wars Deluxe," a Negativland-esque collage that pairs together samples of music with clips from the 1985 PMRC Senate hearings, for which Zappa played an integral role defending against censorship.
