German jazz musician Nicole Johänntgen (*1981) is saxophonist, composer and workshop leader. She has won a total of 9 awards internationally and nationally. Among them the International Jazz Contest Monaco, the JTI Trier Jazz Award, the Seven Virtual Jazz Club Contest, the European Yamaha Saxophone Contest, the Young Soloist Contest in Fribourg. Then she received awards such as Lichtenburg Award 2023, Art Award 2022 Saarland, Sponsorship Award of Saarlandic Radio and Sparkassen Finance Group Saar and the first prize for the best composition of Jazzclub Moods in Switzerland. Nicole Johänntgen has played with stars like Daniel Powter (Bad day), Roger Cicero, Eric Harland, Aaron Parks, Nils Landgren and is on CD release tour with her band Nicole Johänntgen “Labyrinth”.

Siren Songs Volume II continues a heartfelt tribute to influential women songwriters, offering an acoustic, minimally produced sound that spans multiple genres. With its first single "Rhiannon" released in May 2025, the project also aims to spotlight the ongoing issue of under-recognition and under-compensation of women in the music industry.

On TIME TO LOVE AGAIN, vocalist NICOLE HENRY performs an eclectic mix of jazz standards and reimagined pop tunes with the sweet yet powerful voice that has made her a world-wide favorite with audiences and critics alike. This is Henry's eighth CD, following four of which charted on Billboard and HMV Japan's Top 10 jazz charts and earned her a Soul Train Award for "Best Traditional Jazz Performance" – including Embraceable (2011), The Very Thought of You (2008), Teach Me Tonight (2005), and The Nearness of You (2004).

Time was when a jazz trio without a piano or guitar was a rare occurrence. But once Sonny Rollins went chordless at the Vanguard the die was cast and, though the instrumentation is still not exactly thick on the ground, it is an important subset in the list of saxophone-fronted jazz groups.

ROOT AREA stands for soul jazz. After three years, the top-class line-up, consisting of Christoph Grab and Nicole Johänntgen on saxophones, Marcel Thomi on Hammond organ and Elmar Frey on drums, is now making an impressive return with its new album In Pursuit Of Happiness. For the album release at Moods, Zurich guitarist Michael Bucher will also be accompanying the band.

Nicole Zuraitis created siren songs volume 1 with a clear purpose in mind: Celebrate women songwriters. It’s a concept she’d been thinking about for years. Her own success as a songwriter made the project even more timely: in 2024, she became the first artist, man or woman, to win Best Jazz Vocal Album at the GRAMMYs for a project of entirely original music and arrangements — her album How Love Begins.
