Helsinki-based trumpet player Tomi Nikku presents his debut under his own name on Flame Jazz Records with the album ’Light & Shade’.

UXILA EXILE ignites its campfire at the crossroad of European contemporary jazz, experimental rhythmic music and jazz traditions. Vibraphonist-composer Ilkka Uksila is accompanied in this musical exile by the virtuoso Tomi Nikku, the convincing Joonas Tuuri and the swinging Ville Luukkonen.

Helsinki-based drummer Joonas Leppänen introduces Alder Ego, his quartet formation bringing together four major talents from the buzzing Finnish jazz scene. Here, Leppänen is joined by trumpeter Tomi Nikku (of Bowman Trio), saxophonist Jarno Tikka and bassist Teemu Åkerblom.

Bowman Trio is a group of young musicians from Helsinki, Finland who appreciate the American jazz tradition and personal approach to music. Their sound comes from the American West Coast-style, which is often described as cool and mellow.
