As in his four previous albums or in the different musical pieces he has composed over the last ten years, Illusions is the fruit of a long meditation lasting several years around a theme that is close to his heart: the illusory or true way we look at things. This album was recorded for the first time with the members of the group he has been playing with since his first album. Illusions is also a concept album in which Ibrahim decides to have fun, without lingering too long on the feel-good notes, but rather by juggling with the reassuring ones to put them in jeopardy. Illusions is intended to be more fun, more open and less jazzy then his previous work. Illusions is intended to bring people together because it was written for a wider audience. And as always, Ibrahim's signature subtle mix of eastern and western influences permeates the melodies of this composition.

A pioneering figure in the world of contemporary jazz thanks to his fusion of pop, soul, electro, hip-hop, and French chansons with the music of his Lebanese roots, Ibrahim Maalouf is widely regarded as one of the most gifted trumpeters of his generation.

After two albums on Le Chant du Monde at Harmonia Mundi, then “Nomade Sonore” (Revelation 2015 – Jazz Magazine) on Gaya, Éric Séva proves himself to be an atypical musician whose curiosity feeds his creative spirit. He continues with this fourth opus “Body and Blues” dedicated to the blues, to the blue note. In this new project he plumbs the essence of his own sensitivity, his own story. Blues is the verbalization of a constant struggle against adversity. Thanks to the sounds of the baritone, soprano and sopranino saxophones sublimated by the unexpected use of a wah-wah pedal, blues finds an unexpected voice with Éric Séva.

Taking on board a bassist as exceptional as John Patitucci (Chick Corea, Wayne Shorter), guitarist Yotam Silberstein’s new album is like a great voyage, which draws inspiration from a multitude of musical traditions. Alternating the accordion and piano of the Brazilian prodigy Vitor Gonçalves and the piano and Fender Rhodes of the rising star of the New York City jazz scene Glenn Zaleski, his quartet completed by the Israeli drummer Daniel Dor (ex-Avishai Cohen Trio) forges a nomadic and virtuoso repertoire, with stopovers in numerous territories and with a predilection for South America, Brazil in particular. Vibrant and inspired, “Future Memories”, in his own words the most personal recording of Yotam Silberstein's career, reveals itself to be like a series of windows open onto the beauties of the world and the memory of the emotions they evoke in each of us. A profound and majestic album, by one of the major guitarists on the international scene today.
