Magazine's three-disc box set is a mess. Breaking the group's history down to two eras spread across the first two-thirds of the box and adding a fantastic and well-needed third disc dedicated solely to Peel Sessions, it's yet another multi-disc package that half-pleases both fan and neophyte. Only four of the 45 tracks come directly from the band's four studio LPs. Oddly enough, seven-tenths of the decent live album Play is strewn across the first two discs.

TEN is Paul Rose's tenth album to date, with ten new tracks released in 2010. This album is one hell of a mighty slice of rock 'n' roll pie from the Newcastle born master, and a truly international team effort of titanic proportions. As well as being a landmark in the outstandingly talented independent artists remarkable career. With drums recorded in Miami, guitars, bass and vocals recorded in Scotland and England, and bound together by Paul's now trademark composition and production style. TEN features some great instrumental rock out tunes, like the powerhouse song "Past Myself" as well as a reworking of Paul's Slideaway classic "Throw Me A Line". Other tracks featured are "Walker Road" and "Straight Ahead" which were originally demoed on a portastudio way back in the pre "Homework" days.

The CD is a compilation of songs spanning the band's career plus this one new track. The idea for the new song came after an interview given by Gene Simmons, in which he stated, "Rock Is Dead". The song was written by Brian Vollmer and Sean Kelly. As for the video, it was shot by ex-Helix guitarist Brent Doerner and features Demon Moe and Michael Moodry from the KISS clone band DESTROYER. Also in the video is Laura Nielson (an up and coming London vocalist) and Chelsea Zimmerman. Guitarist Sean Kelly adds, "Helix is releasing a career-spanning compilation that features a brand new track that I wrote with Brian Vollmer… Aaron Murray's production is killer, watch for a new video and listen for the track to hit radio in the coming weeks."

‘Endless hours of joy and wonder’ is how Angela Hewitt sums up the insights and rewards of playing and recording Mozart’s piano sonatas, and a similar experience awaits listeners to these remarkable accounts, the first release in a complete cycle.
If this first volume is anything to go by, the journey will be a joy…Hewitt makes them sound effortless. Her articulation is clean, the pedalling lightly judicious, her fingers nimble and strong, the ornamentation always tasteful, while the clarity of her approach brings out the individual character of each sonata, each movement.

Sean Costello was one of the most brilliant blues-based artists of his generation. His deeply soulful singing, songwriting and guitar playing crossed effortlessly between genres. Sean entered the scene as a child prodigy, and soon became regarded as a torchbearer, one of the leading lights of the new century. He had already gained international recognition when he died tragically in 2008, on the eve of his 29th birthday. IN THE MAGIC SHOP is Sean Costello’s previously unreleased 2005 studio album, produced in New York City by his longtime friend, collaborator and advocate, four-time Grammy Award winner Steve Rosenthal, in his recording studio, The Magic Shop. This is Sean Costello at his best, performing his stunning original compositions and well-chosen covers with band mates Paul Linden, Melvin Zachery and Ray Hangen, along with a few guests. This should have been Sean’s breakthrough record — but it remained unmixed and unheard for almost ten years.
