In May of 2015, violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter gave a truly unique concert: rather than standing on stage in one of the world’s renowned well-tempered grand concert halls, she spent two evenings playing in a tiny graffiti-scrawled nightclub in Berlin. Recorded in front of a standing-room only audience, this new release includes popular works by Bach, Copland, Gershwin, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi and many more. Mutter is joined by Mahan Esfahani, Lambert Orkis and the Mutter Virtuosi.
One OK Rock is a Japanese power pop/alt-rock band that draws on the sound of blink-182 and Foo Fighters. Named for the time of the band's scheduled practice and pronounced the same as "one OK rock" in a Japanese accent, the group was established in 2005 by high schooler Toru (guitar), who teamed with bassist Ryota, vocalist Taka (formerly of the boy band NEWS), and another guitarist, the San Francisco-born Alex Onizawa, who had previously worked as a fashion model. /quote]

The "+" in the title of Live+ refers to the two studio recordings tacked onto the end of this 2015 live set: a tense, cloistered original called "Tribal," where Jeff Beck spits out squalls of noise over thundering primal drums; and a cover of "My Tiled White Floor," a wash of electronic soul with vocals by Veronica Bellino that feels constructed out of faded memories of Prince. They're nice additions that wouldn't have quite suited 2010's Emotion & Commotion, nor do they quite feel of a piece with the rest of Live+, all recorded on tour in August 2014.
Following the 2013 release of Betty’s S.F. Blends, Volume One and their third full-length album, 2014′s Phosphorescent Harvest, Chris Robinson Brotherhood are back with an exciting double-LP: Betty’s Blends, Volume Two: Best From the West. Taking cues from Volume One, the CRB once again joined forces with Betty Cantor-Jackson, legendary archivist for the Grateful Dead, and allowed her to curate the new live album.
