A great return for the Italian prog band Odessa, expected for thirteen years from the previous "The final day - il giorno del giudizio", twenty-three years after the acclaimed "Stazione Getsemani". "L'alba della civiltà"" shows all the best qualities already expressed by the Marches band: extraordinary versatility in its hard-progressive dynamics of Italian seventies sound, forays into "purple" way, jazz disgressions, romantic traits, but especially notable expressive, rhythmic and melodic brilliance. It is no coincidence that among the covers already proposed by Odessa there are Area, Rovescio della Medaglia, Trip, and this time, surprisingly, comes "L'anno, il posto, l'ora 1972", a song by Pooh of the symphonic period "Parsifal", with the particularity of going to propose the version never officially finished in their discography (there is only an old live document)…

"Odessa" is the 6th studio album by the Bee Gees. Regarded as the most significant of the group's Sixties albums, it was released as a double vinyl record, initially in an opulent red flocked cover with gold lettering. An ambitious project, originally intended as a concept album on the loss of a fictional ship in 1899, it created tension and disagreements in the band regarding the album's direction. The album was not well received by the public or the music press on release, and led to a decline in the group's fortunes until their disco period in the mid 1970s. Odessa would be the final album for the band's original incarnation, and this was the last album to include guitarist Vince Melouney. In 2009, Reprise Records released a Deluxe remaster of the album, as prepared by Rhino Records, with 3 discs containing, respectively, the album in stereo, the album in mono and selected rarities. The 3rd disc, entitled "Sketches for Odessa" featured demos of the songs plus a vocal take of "With All Nations (International Anthem)" and the previously unissued tracks "Nobody's Someone" and "Pity". This edition restored the red flocking originally found on the LP.

Trumpeter, composer, long-time leader of the Flying Bulgar Klezmer Band and founder of the famed Ashkenaz festival of New Yiddish Culture teams with award winning pianist/composer Hilario Duran to explore the exciting nexus of Cuban/Klezmer fusion. Inspired by the Jewish mambo craze of the 1950’s, the music here moves from Bulgar to Bembé, Sher to Son Montuno, Hora to Habanero. A brilliant blend of two cultures, this is an exciting release by a band that will appeal to fans of latin, jazz and Jewish music alike.

Klezmer, traditional Eastern European Jewish music, is said to have originated in the city of Odessa (Ukraine). The klezmorim were professional (and usually poor) musicians, who would travel through villages entertaining at festive occasions such as weddings and social events. The group Odessa specializes in klezmer music enriched by non-Jewish influences: Greek, Ottoman, Gypsy, and Macedonian.

"Odessa" is a 1969 album by the Bee Gees. Regarded as the most significant of the band's Sixties albums, it was released as a double vinyl record initially in an opulent red flocked cover with gold lettering. Having released three highly successful albums and having an unbroken three-year run of hit singles, the Bee Gees could have just produced another version of Idea. Instead, they took the brave move of releasing a concept album. Odessa takes the listener on an Odyssey, a voyage around the world and through history, and in doing so proved the Gibb Brothers to be the most progressive and innovative recording act of the time.
