Massimo Faraò, who is from Italy, first visited the United States in 1983 when he played with Red Holloway. In Europe he has since worked with many top performers including Tony Scott, Jesse Davis, Franco Ambrosetti, Nat Adderley, Jack DeJohnette and a notable tour in 2007 with organist Joey DeFrancesco. Even with all of that, it is as the leader of his own trio that he really shines. Farao's passionate style and stoic romanticism are very attractive along with the rich harmonies he creates. For this release his quartet features Davide Palladin, Nicola Barbon and Roberto "Bobo" Facchinetti, accompanied with Academia Arrigoni's Strings Orchestra, conducted by Bruno Cesselli.

Legendary pianist and composer Oscar Peterson led a storied career, spanning over half a century with new creative heights at every turn. 1971 saw Peterson touring the world once again, joined by bassist Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen and drummer Louis Hayes.

Emilie-Claire Barlow's 11th self produced album. Garnering a nomination for "Producer of the Year" and winning "Jazz Vocal Album of the Year" in 2016 - this critically acclaimed work was recorded with multi-Grammy Award winner "The Metropole Orkest" in 2015. This was the first recording at 96kHz 24bit for the MCO recording studio.

Canada’s incomparable vocal jazz jewel, Emilie-Claire Barlow’s 10th album is all about big change. It has a big sound, backed by Netherland’s 69-musician-strong Metropole Orkest conducted by Jules Buckley, which accompanies Barlow’s five-piece band. This album is fresh, it sounds big, arranged to perfection, recorded & mastered with surgical precision but at the end of the day it is all about Emilie’s flawless voice.

This a fabulous Paul Horn album, but you must accept that it is something of a "period piece" which was designed to have broad, mass, commercial appeal at that time (1966) and, for whatever reason, simply didn't (and I like to think that that was because it was simply too good! Paul's tone on the flute, alto flute and bass flute (often rendered without any vibrato at all) is gorgeous and his musical concept is unique. The tunes are very short, so he doesn't get a chance to stretch out much, but it does't really matter, because the stark simplicity in his lines (both on the heads and the improvising) is every bit as bold as it is striking. And (you may be surprised to hear me say this but I mean it) his musical style has the same stark clarity, simplicity and honesty that I have only heard from John Coltrane on the classic Ballads album.

On this album, The Super Trio of Massimo Farao', Ron Carter and Jimmy Cobb deliver a very special and strong set including "Autumn Leaves", "Our Love Is Here To Stay", "Oh What A Beautiful Morning" and "Once Upon A Time In America".

"Songs for Rainy Day Lovers" is an album by American keyboardist/composer-arranger Clare Fischer, recorded in August 1966 and released in September 1967 by Columbia Records. Later it have been reissued in 1978 on the Discovery label as "America the Beautiful". Having provided his distinctive string backgrounds for albums by several artists over the previous decade, including Donald Byrd, Cal Tjader, and the Hi-Lo's, the 37-year-old Fischer finally had an opportunity to provide the same service for himself, as a string orchestra and rhythm section combine to support the leader as featured piano soloist.

Recorded in 1977, the two-disc "Swingin' on the Korner: Live at Keystone Korner" showcases pianist Red Garland performing with his trio at the legendary San Francisco venue. Joining Garland here are bassist Leroy Vinnegar and fellow Miles Davis bandmate drummer Philly Joe Jones.

This vintage live album from Brazilian-born guitar player Baden Powell was recorded at the Philharmonie in Berlin in November 1967. Powell and his trio members are joined by guitarists Buddy Guy, Barney Kessel, Elmer Snowden and Jim Hall on these performances of Jazz and Brazilian standards.
