Opalessence retraces a psychic travel through the six mental stages cyclically experienced during a lifetime. From birth to death, literally or symbolically, human beings indeed consciously or unconsciously go through several psychological steps that cause them to make certain decisions and choices, and so directly contributing to their self-development. Each composition represents such chapters in a cycle, the musical aspects insisting on the unstable and constantly changing nature of that process.

The result being Nocturnus AD’s debut album “Paradox” being the proper follow-up to “The Key” (musically and thematically) where the story of Dr. Magus would finally see its sequel three decades later.
The new Nocturnus AD album “Unicursal” sees Browning, along with guitarists Belial Koblak and Demian Heftel, keyboardist Josh Holdren, and new bassist Kyle Sokol…
An excellent follow-up to the legendary Two Trumpets session on Prestige – and even rarer than that one! Three of the up-and-coming hard bop trumpeters of the 1950s are matched up on this jam session-flavored set: Art Farmer, Donald Byrd, and Idrees Sulieman. With a fine rhythm section (comprised of pianist Hod O'Brien, bassist Addison Farmer, and drummer Ed Thigpen), the brassmen perform five originals (one apiece from Farmer, Byrd, and O'Brien, and two from Sulieman). Although none of the songs caught on ("Palm Court Alley" is actually a blues), there are some fireworks during these performances.
