Opalessence retraces a psychic travel through the six mental stages cyclically experienced during a lifetime. From birth to death, literally or symbolically, human beings indeed consciously or unconsciously go through several psychological steps that cause them to make certain decisions and choices, and so directly contributing to their self-development. Each composition represents such chapters in a cycle, the musical aspects insisting on the unstable and constantly changing nature of that process.

With their previous album “Paradox”, Nocturnus founder/sci-fi death metal godfather Mike Browning (also original Morbid Angel co-founder) would resurrect Nocturnus lore under its new alteration Nocturnus AD which gave Browning the opportunity to finally continue the mythos that came before with the legendary album “The Key” almost 30 years after the release of one of the most influential death metal albums of all time. The result being Nocturnus AD’s debut album “Paradox” being the proper follow-up to “The Key” (musically and thematically) where the story of Dr. Magus would finally see its sequel three decades later.
The new Nocturnus AD album “Unicursal” sees Browning, along with guitarists Belial Koblak and Demian Heftel, keyboardist Josh Holdren, and new bassist Kyle Sokol…

2005 released 2nd solo album from the son of CSN's Stephen Stills & French superstar Veronique Sanson. Stills explores the ties between the 2 cultures that nurtured his life- French songs and American rock. "My French culture has always been a part of my life but it was time for me to do something with it." The album is bilingual, with Stills singing for the first time in his mother tongue: French. "This allowed me to discover another side of myself," explains Chris, "recalling another culture in my art.". He composed the English material and collaborated for the French songs with native songwriters & composers: Philippe Djian who wrote the lyrics for 2 songs composed by Stephan Eicher ("La fin du monde" & "Demon"), Jean-Louis Murat ("Kitty Catty"), while ex-Alain Bashung lyricist Boris Bergman wrote "DeuxiŠme Chance". Ryan Adams lent a helping hand on "For You". Finally, "Fool for Love" was written by Chris, the album's producer Hod David and the phenomenal producer, Ethan Johns.

An excellent follow-up to the legendary Two Trumpets session on Prestige – and even rarer than that one! Three of the up-and-coming hard bop trumpeters of the 1950s are matched up on this jam session-flavored set: Art Farmer, Donald Byrd, and Idrees Sulieman. With a fine rhythm section (comprised of pianist Hod O'Brien, bassist Addison Farmer, and drummer Ed Thigpen), the brassmen perform five originals (one apiece from Farmer, Byrd, and O'Brien, and two from Sulieman). Although none of the songs caught on ("Palm Court Alley" is actually a blues), there are some fireworks during these performances.
