Open Up:

Excellent addition to any prog-rock music collection
ETHOS were an excellent 70’s US based 4 piece prog rock band whose second album “Open Up” remains a landmark album for this music lover.

Here is an excellent example of the US Progressive rock scene of the Seventies: having both technique and excellence, imagination & talent. They seemed to be influenced by a variety of styles. Their sound was a little folky at times, poppy at others, even a little jazzy at times, loosely in the shadow of Kansas, Yes, Genesis, early King Crimson and others, with lots of vocals everywhere.

A new studio album by the German progressive / hard rock legends. In the 1970s, Birth Control were one of the most internationally successful German rock bands . Since their spectacular album debut in 1970 on the cult label Ohr, the band has released more than thirty long players, including timeless classics such as "Operation", "Hoodoo Man" (which includes the disco hit "Gamma Ray") and "Plastic People". Their 21st regular album is the first since the death of the band mastermind, singer and drummer Bernd Noske. Birth Control has always had a completely unique sound, showing the creativity and range of the current line-up on this album and gets to the heart of their wealth of ideas in 54 minutes, bringing 8 new studio tracks to the turntable, including a reworking of the 1972 hit Gamma Ray. Furthermore, seven new songs from the compositional pen of their songwriter duo Kühn / Ettrich, a brilliant mix of progressive/hard rock, blues and funk.

The new BIRTH CONTROL album "OPEN UP" will be released on June 3rd, 2022. 8 new studio tracks, including a reworking of the 1972 "superhit" GAMMA RAY, are put on the turntable. The new studio album "OPEN UP" shows the creativity and range of the current line-up, their wealth of ideas and the motivation to get to the heart of BIRTH CONTROL in 54 minutes. The album was conceived during the 2020 lockdown and recorded between January and June 2021. The release is on June 3, 2022 as LP/CD/Digital.
