Zinc is the title of composer and saxophonist Marina Vallet's new work, a work that describes a vital moment of transition and regeneration. Like Zinc, the themes that form part of this album become a game of energetic colors that define the musical personality of Marina Vallet, an outstanding saxophonist who, with her own voice, has developed a solid trajectory over the last decade. In Zinc, Marina Vallet has collaborated closely with bassist Paco Weht, who has been in charge of arranging Vallet's originals for this album. With this play of intensities, energies and colors, Zinc is the most luminous project of one of the most outstanding saxophonists on the current scene.

This is the fourth collaboration between Fernando Velázquez and Oriol Paulo after CONTRATIEMPO, DESPUÉS DE LA TORMENTA and the TV series THE INNOCENT.Velázquez provides an intense, exciting and highly vigorous score with thick orchestral colors—lyrical, dark and rhythmic, including a haunting main theme and echoes of Bernard Herrmann. The music is sensitively performed by the Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra under the baton of the composer.
