Pattie Brooks is an American singer most frequently associated with the disco era. She was born in Fort Riley, Kansas to a military family. Her first break came in 1968 when she auditioned for the chorus on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour". In the next decade she became a sought-after backing singer, appearing on the Bobby Darin Show and touring with, among others Helen Reddy. She sang backing on Donna Summer's "I Remember Yesterday" album.

Pattie's last of 5 albums, produced by Sandy Linzer. The track "Doctor Ruth" was taken well in the club scene and the ballad "Everytime I Turn Around" had some R&B hit success. Over all the album sides a little more on the club scene, a great mix of styles along with the Mirage production produces a very nice result!

The album was produced by Bunny Sigler. This is taken from an unofficial CD reissue, allegedly by Casablanca but part of their "Premium Series A.G." series.

"Keeping Time" is the second studio album by American actor, singer and songwriter Paul Jabara. The album which was released on Casablanca Records in 1978 includes Jabara's song "Trapped in a Stairway" from the movie Thank God It's Friday, his own version of the Grammy Award winning "Last Dance" (originally recorded by Donna Summer) as well as the duets "Something's Missing" (with Summer) and "Take Good Care of My Baby / What's a Girl to Do" (with Pattie Brooks). The lead single from the album was "Dancin' (Lift Your Spirits Higher)". Betty Lederer from Billboard, elected "Pleasure Island" as the best cut of the album, the magazine also choose the album as the best Disco album of the week, giving it a favorable review. The album peaked at #27 in the National Disco Action Top 40.

"Street Songs" is the 5th album by American musician Rick James, released in April 1981 via Gordy Records. "Give It to Me Baby", the lead song and single from the album, became James' second #1 single on the R&B chart. It spent five weeks at the top spot. The fifth song on the album, "Super Freak", was also one of James' biggest hits. The album became an immediate success upon its release, eventually reaching #3 on the US Pop chart and spending twenty weeks at #1 on the US R&B chart. The album was certified Platinum in the US in July 1981. By 1983, the album had sold nearly 4 million copies worldwide. At the 1982 Grammys, James was nominated for Best Male Rhythm and Blues Vocal Performance for the album while being the first African American male artist to be nominated in the Best Male Rock Vocal Performance category for the song "Super Freak".

Ernestine Anderson (November 11, 1928 – March 10, 2016) was an American jazz and blues singer. In a career spanning more than six decades, she recorded over 30 albums. She was nominated four times for a Grammy Award. She sang at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Monterey Jazz Festival (six times over a 33-year span), as well as at jazz festivals all over the world. In the early 1990s she joined Qwest Records, the label of fellow Garfield High School grad Quincy Jones.
