This is a reissue of Procol Harum's third and fourth albums released in 1969 and 1970. While there was outside and perhaps internal pressure to equal the success of "A Whiter Shade of Pale," this band was not deterred from creating wonderfully creative music that sometimes matched the grandeur of its 1967 smash but just didn't translate into a "hit."…

Captured Live at the Forum is the third album by American rock band Three Dog Night, released in 1969. The album was recorded at The Forum in Los Angeles. According to Three Dog Nightmare, Three Dog Night opened this show in support of Steppenwolf, who were recording various shows on their 1969–70 tour for an upcoming live album (Steppenwolf Live, released 1970). Steppenwolf and Three Dog Night both recorded for the ABC/Dunhill label and shared the same production team, and it was decided to also record Three Dog Night on this occasion, despite the band's having only released two prior albums. The choice paid off, as Captured Live at the Forum reached #6 on the Billboard album chart. All the songs featured on Captured Live at the Forum were previously issued in studio versions by Three Dog Night. "Feelin' Alright", "Eli's Coming", and "Easy to Be Hard" were included on the band's second studio album Suitable for Framing, and the remainder on their eponymous first album.

Although it ran parallel with the back-to-basics feeling that permeated the early '70s, Good Dog Banned arrived at a distinctive strain of organic rock that was much more joyous and good-timey than many of their musicians-in-arms. Their one stab at rock & roll immortality, Good Dog Banned seems oblivious to any sense of anger at the "failure" of the '60s dream to take complete effect as of 1971. Whereas some '60s expatriates were decrying the cultural revolution, Good Dog Banned were singing "Things Ain't so Bad," heading down to the river and drinking wine. There is no nostalgia, no cynicism present. The band was untethered, ingenuous. Perhaps it could be viewed as rose-colored hippie denial, but in retrospect, the pure, unselfconscious charisma and the lack of piety that Good Dog Banned inject into their only effort makes it seem less of its time than other bands of this ilk…

Three Dog Night (1968). Three Dog Night's self-titled debut is one of the strongest and most cohesive offerings by the combo. Their claim to fame would come via overhauls and sleepers from a wide spectrum of luminous singer/songwriters. The moniker refers to lead vocalists Danny Hutton, Chuck Negron and Cory Wells, but credit is overdue for the incendiary instrumentalists: Mike Allsup (guitar), Jimmy Greenspoon (keyboards), Joe Schermie (bass) and Floyd Sneed (drums). The combo's initial achievement came in April of 1969 after their remake of Harry Nilsson's loner/heartbreak anthem "One" landed in the Top Five. So successful was the track, the record label emblazoned the name of the song onto the cover art - resulting in the long-player also (albeit erroneously) being identified as "One"…

The Northern California duo Dog Party formed in 2005 when the Giles sisters had their first practice, during which they wrote their first song. Guitarist Gwendolyn was nine years old, and drummer Lucy was six. Ever since that day, the sisters kept writing songs, practicing and playing the occasional show as they juggled music with school and growing up. They released their first record, a seven-song self-titled EP in January of 2009, then followed it two years later with the similarly self-released P.A.R.T.Y. As the duo got more well-known and more musically accomplished, they began to play more shows, including a tour of Europe. Their music caught the ear of the legendary NoCal punk label Asian Man and they signed the duo up and released their second album, Lost Control, in summer of 2013. Tons of harmonies, great melodies, and solid playing make these teen sisters sound like they've been touring for years. Their next album, "Vol.4" will be released on June 16, 2015 through Asian Man Records.
