There is hardly a better representative of medieval poetry than Walther von der Vogelweide. He is considered one of the most important Minnesänger and Sangspruch (sung speech) poets of the Middle Ages. Sabine Lutzenberger and the ensemble Per-Sonat have underlaid some of Walther's poems with his own "Tönen" (= melodies), others with music of his contemporaries, completing fragments and reproducing several melodies in the style of the period. Sangspruch, one of most important handed-down traditions together with the Minnesang, functions here as the link between history and living performance practice. The sources extend from the 13th century to the Meistersang. Listeners can now experience Walther's magnificent poetry sung for the first time on this CD.

The Sacri concerti a voce sola. Con la Partitura per l’organo, published in Venice by Bartolomeo Magni in 1642, have been composed during Filago stay in Venice and follow a long silence in the author publications, according to what Filago himself writes in the preface. This is the fourth and last print of this author: the preceding volumes published in 1611 and 1619 contain polyphonic motets, and another volume, presumably published between these two, is lost. The volume of 1611 is extant in an incomplete copy.

2018 also marks 250 years since Gioachino Rossini’s death in 1868. ‘Messa per Rossini’ was composed in his memory by Verdi and 12 other notable Italian composers Verdi himself composed the concluding Libera me, which he later used in his own ‘Messa da Requiem’. This rare recording represents the work’s triumphant return to the spiritual home of Verdi and Rossini: the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.

Con questo terzo CD, dedicato a varie composizioni di Alessandro (Pietro Gaspare) Scarlatti (Palermo, 2 maggio 1660 – Napoli, 22 ottobre 1725) destinate precipuamente all’organo, continua il progetto che prevede la registrazione degli «Opera Omnia per tastiera» del grande compositore «Palermitano».

Talented concert soloist Milena Frigé presents the toccatas of Scarlatti on the Tamburini Organ of Chiesa di Santa Bernardetta in Milan, and a Granziera Harpsichord modelled after a 1703 Grimbaldi instrument, representative of the instruments for which Scarlatti composed these works.
