José Menese was considered one of the most important singers of the late 20th century and early 21st century, obtaining many prizes and distinctions along his professional career. José Menese Scott was born in La Puebla de Cazalla (Sevilla), but was in Madrid where José Menese made his first contact with the flamenco world and after passing through some difficulties, he debuts at tablao Zambra, the most prestigious in Madrid. There he sang every night during more than three years, and had the opportunity to know artists such as Perico el del Lunar, Rafael Romero, Pericón de Cádiz, Juan Varea, Rosa Durán, among others, all of them great professionals. His first record was released in 1963, in collaboration with the incomparable guitarist Melchor de Marchena.
