El baterista Guillermo McGill es una de las figuras más destacadas del jazz español, y toda una referencia en el jazz flamenco. A pesar de su trayectoria y de su autoridad profesional, y teniendo en cuenta que en esto de la crisis de la industria discográfica pinta bastos para todos, McGill se ha lanzado a la creación de su propia discográfica, a la que ha llamado Clandestino, y donde acaba de lanzar su último disco, y el primero de su sello, al que, significativamente, ha titulado ‘Es hora de caminar’.

'Red' is the debut album from new band, Lithium. Lithium is the result of a collaboration of four talented jazz musicians and composers: Joonas Tuuri, Jonne Taavitsainen, Alexi Tuomarila and André Fernandes. With many tours both as leader and with trumpet player and ECM artist Tomasz Stanko, pianist and composer Alexi Tuomarila has become a fixture in many European jazz projects. His fellow countryman, drummer Jonne Taavitsainen, is one of the jazz scene's emerging talents. Joonas Tuuri plays double bass and electric bass. In his career as a bassist, he has played in many different formations. In his youth, Joonas studied music at the Central Karelia Music Institute in eastern Finland and today studies at the Sibelius Academy's Jazz Department. The line-up is completed by the youngest band member, the Portuguese guitarist Andre Fernandes, who already has worked with a number of top artists such as Lee Konitz, Mário Laginha, Chris Cheek, Maria Joao, Tomasz Stanko, Bill McHenry, Perico Sambeat, Jeff Ballard, Julian Arguelles, David Binney, Avishai Cohen and Eli Degib.

Born in San Juan and raised in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, García studied guitar at the extension program of the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico and drumset at Micheo Music Academy, while later receiving a bachelor’s degree in Música Popular from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico. Furthermore, he was awarded the Juan Luis Guerra Scholarship to complete a master’s degree in Contemporary Performance at Berklee College of Music, Valencia, Spain. Currently, he is finishing a second master’s degree in Music Education at Teachers College Columbia University.

EL JAZZING 8 – vol 1 (Temps Record, 2018) de la Sant Andreu Jazz Band és la mostra del treball realitzat durant l’any 2017, en diferents contextos: Sat, sala Omega, del Taller de Músics, sala Jamboree, ha estat un any molt fructífer i hem incorporat molts arranjaments nous, com sempre, buscant nous reptes i descobrint a nous solistes, que a força d’escoltar molta música i treballar individual i col·lectivament, aconsegueixen uns resultats meravellosos. Aquest nou treball, tot i que inclou molts temes vocals, també hi ha molts instrumentals en on els cada vegada més nombrosos solistes de l’orquestra tenen la seva oportunitat de compartir la seva creativitat, la seva capacitat de generar un discurs propi.
