"Songs from the West Coast" is the 26th studio album by British singer-songwriter Elton John, released worldwide on 1 October 2001. Many critics have said that this album brought him back to his piano-based musical roots. Disney's 1997 and 2006 reissues of the Mary Poppins soundtrack augmented the classic original release with a handful of demos and interviews, which is enough bonus material to attract collectors, but not enough to overshadow the wonderful qualities of the music. The Let It Be album has been newly mixed by producer Giles Martin and engineer Sam Okell. All the new Let It Be releases feature the new stereo mix of the album as guided by the original "reproduced for disc" version by Phil Spector and sourced directly from the original session and rooftop performance eight-track tapes. The Special Edition Deluxe 2CD also includes a disc of outtake highlights and a 40-page booklet.
