Popular hip hop duo composed of Jeff Townes AKA DJ Jazzy Jeff (b. Jeffrey A. Townes, 22 January 1965, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA) and Will Smith AKA The Fresh Prince (b. Willard Christopher Smith Jr., 25 September 1968, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA).
Jazzy Jeff started DJing in the mid-1970's when he was a mere 10 years old, (though he is not to be confused with the similarly-titled Jazzy Jeff who cut an album, also for Jive, in 1985).
Together with Will Smith , they became the first rap act to receive a Grammy Award for their second 12" single "Parents Just Don't Understand".
Meanwhile, Jeff founded "A Touch Of Jazz Inc", a stable of producers working on rap/R&B projects. The duo picked up a second Grammy for "Summertime" in 1991, before scoring a shock UK number 1 in 1993 with "Boom! Shake The Room".

Sunset Scavenger was DJ Zeph's second CD for Wide Hive label. His music has a similar feel to RJD2, DJ Shadow, and DJ Food. Azeem, Lyrics Born, Raashan Ahmad, and Vursatyl make guest appearances as rappers.

Project Logic is the project from Jason Kibler, better known as turntablist DJ Logic. Released on Rope-A-Dope Records, Project Logic was recorded during the time when he was a backing DJ for jazz trio Medeski, Martin & Wood and features each of them in different songs plus a number of special guests and associates, including guitarist Vernon Reid and singer Jennifer Charles.

The seventh release in the Sources series switches over to DJ International records from Chicago – probably THE classiest of the early Chicago House Music labels. Not only did the label have an award-winning name but the quality of its releases over the early years of House music, speak for themselves. DJ International also had several of the biggest early commercial successes with legendary tracks like Farley Jackmaster Funk’s “Love Can’t Turn Around”,
J.M. Silk’s “Music Is The Key”, Joe Smooth’s “The Promised Land” and Sterling Void’s “It’s Alright” among many others.
