Polynomial Algorithms in Computer Algebra by Franz Winkler

For several years now I have been teaching courses in computer algebra at the Universitat Linz, the University of Delaware, and the Universidad de Alcala de Henares. In the summers of 1990 and 1992 I have organized and taught summer schools in computer algebra at the Universitat Linz. Gradually a set of course notes has emerged from these activities. People have asked me for copies of the course notes, and different versions of them have been circulating for a few years. Finally I decided that I should really take the time to write the material up in a coherent way and make a book out of it.

Algorithms for Computer Algebra

Algorithms for Computer Algebra by K. O. Geddes
English | PDF | 1992 | 593 Pages | ISBN : 0792392590 | 20.2 MB

Algorithms for Computer Algebra is the first comprehensive textbook to be published on the topic of computational symbolic mathematics. The book first develops the foundational material from modern algebra that is required for subsequent topics. It then presents a thorough development of modern computational algorithms for such problems as multivariate polynomial arithmetic and greatest common divisor calculations, factorization of multivariate polynomials, symbolic solution of linear and polynomial systems of equations, and analytic integration of elementary functions.

Computer Algebra in Scientific Computing

Computer Algebra in Scientific Computing by Andreas Weber
English | PDF | 2019 | 162 Pages | ISBN : 3039217305 | 4.1 MB

Although scientific computing is very often associated with numeric computations, the use of computer algebra methods in scientific computing has obtained considerable attention in the last two decades. Computer algebra methods are especially suitable for parametric analysis of the key properties of systems arising in scientific computing.

Rational Algebraic Curves: A Computer Algebra Approach (Repost)

Rational Algebraic Curves: A Computer Algebra Approach by J. Rafael Sendra , Franz Winkler , Sonia Pérez-Díaz
English | PDF (True) | 2008 | 273 Pages | ISBN : 3540737243 | 3.68 MB

Algebraic curves and surfaces are an old topic of geometric and algebraic investigation. They have found applications for instance in ancient and m- ern architectural designs, in number theoretic problems, in models of b- logical shapes, in error-correcting codes, and in cryptographic algorithms. Recently they have gained additional practical importance as central objects in computer-aided geometric design. Modern airplanes, cars, and household appliances would be unthinkable without the computational manipulation of algebraic curves and surfaces. Algebraic curves and surfaces combine fas- nating mathematical beauty with challenging computational complexity and wide spread practical applicability.

Extremal Combinatorics: With Applications in Computer Science

Extremal Combinatorics: With Applications in Computer Science by Stasys Jukna
English | PDF | 2011 | 414 Pages | ISBN : 3642173632 | 4.7 MB

This book is a concise, self-contained, up-to-date introduction to extremal combinatorics for nonspecialists. There is a strong emphasis on theorems with particularly elegant and informative proofs, they may be called gems of the theory. The author presents a wide spectrum of the most powerful combinatorial tools together with impressive applications in computer science: methods of extremal set theory, the linear algebra method, the probabilistic method, and fragments of Ramsey theory.
