Primitive Passions is an auspicious venture for the flautist. Dave Valentin's playing, like that of longtime colleagues Bill O'connell, Lincoln Gaines, Robbie Ameen and Milton Cardona, seems more sharply focused and energized than ever. The album abounds with the stylistic diversity and genre-defying performances that could only come naturally from an artist with Valentin's unique background. Primitive Passions explores all of the most entrancing corners of Dave Valentin's musical world. This albums sets a new standard for the flutist and his talented associates. It's exhilarating and soothing; provacative and reassuring.

"Primitive Soul" is one that will appeal to guitar-based hard rockers as opposed to the fluffy big pink keyboard brigade. This is an album with layer upon layer of pure AOR heaven and needs to be heard several times over as each spin reveals another gem. The production is huge, the mix perfect. Excellent guitar sound throughout with some great choices of key patches too. "Primitive Soul" is his first album (his sixth in total) that's only available through the online Chrome Dome label and/or some well-selected mail order companies (such as AOR Heaven).

Passion and Warfare 25th Anniversary Edition was remastered from the original ½" Ampex 456 30ips analog master tapes.

"Primitive" is the sixteenth studio album by Neil Diamond. It was released in 1984 on Columbia Records. Its singles "Turn Around", "Sleep With Me Tonight", and "You Make Me Feel Like Christmas" reach #4, 24, and 28, respectively on the Billboard Adult Contemporary singles chart, while "Turn Around" also reached #62 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The album was certified gold by the RIAA on October 5, 1984.

Marking Manzanera's tenth year of as a professional musician, Primitive Guitars means to be a looking back at his stylistic growth through a series of solo pieces that take in the various stages of his life: childhood in South America, adolescence in London, stints in Roxy Music, 801, and other projects. These are hinted at in the titles ("Caracas," "Bogota," "Ritmo de Los Angeles") and often in the Latin influences of the melodies and playing styles. On all these pulsing, groove-centered instrumental tracks, Manzanera is backed only by a drum machine and, on one tune, John Wetton on bass. Otherwise all the diverse sounds, noises, melodies, and rhythms have been created on guitar, linking Manzanera to another progressive virtuoso, Adrian Belew. In between tracks, Manzanera inserts snatches of dialogue recorded at various rehearsals, making this a successful, very personal album.
