The newly interpreted classical hits, Christian hymns and folk evergreens such as Pie Jesu, Ameno, Ode To Joy or Sound Of Silence shine in new, puristic splendour. Pure Gregorian chant!
As a special highlight, the choir can be experienced for the first time at home in impressive surround sound. A Blu-ray with Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround sound mixes as well as a limited fan boxwith exclusive merch content, including a T-shirt, calendar, poster and a songbook including the songs from the album, complete the release.
Gregorian will embark on a 25-date European tour from the end of January 2022, before embarking on a major 70-date German tour with PURE CHANTS in spring 2023. In addition, another 120 dates in Europe, Asia, North and South America are in preparation.

Filia Sion is the first ECM New Series disc devoted entirely to the Estonian vocal group Vox Clamantis. From the beginning of its history, Vox Clamantis has focussed on Gregorian chant as the foundation of European music, but has also maintained strong connections to contemporary composers including Arvo Pärt, Helena Tulve and Erkki-Sven Tüür (members of the ensemble previously appeared on Tüür s Oxymoron album, singing his composition Salve Regina ). Their interpretation of medieval music is never purely historical. While always remaining true to the spirit of this repertoire, the approach to the work and the selection of pieces is contemporary, with sound and texture and the blending of voices as a focus. As leader Jaan-Eik Tulve explains, Gregorian chant is monophonic music which remarkably emphasizes the blend of voices.

"Acquiring the Taste" was the second album of English progressive rock band Gentle Giant, released in 1971. This was a departure from the blues and soul styles found on their self-titled debut. It was more experimental, more discordant, and with more varied instrumentation.
