Pure Prairie League came Bustin’ Out in 1970 with hit love song “Amie,” and riding the country rock highway with songs like “Early Morning Riser,” “Two Lane Highway,” “Kentucky Moonshine,” and “I’ll Change Your Flat Tire, Merle.” Over the last 50 years, new members have shuffled in and out of the band. And now, with Back on Track, the band’s first studio album in almost 20 years, the new incarnation of Pure Prairie League features drummer Scott Thompson, keyboardist Randy Harper, guitarist Jeffrey Zona, bassist Jared Camic, and original member, pedal steel player John David Call.

"Coming Up To Consciousness" is Pure Reason Revolution’s sixth studio album, and the third of its post-hiatus renaissance that began with 2020's "Eupnea" and continued in 2022's "Above Cirrus". Like those two predecessors, the new record is intensely personal.While the band's distinctive style remains, melding prog and pop through dreamy moods, epic riffs and angelic harmonies, Courtney and Greg Jong also tried to go somewhere a bit different, drawing on influences like Talk Talk, Elliot Smith, The Smile and even Arctic Monkeys in addition to perennial favourites - especially Pink Floyd.
Combines the contents of both LPs issued on the Cicadelic label in the mid-'80s (Crystal Pure and Second Album) onto one CD, making this indeed the definitive collection. Almost all of their known tapes, covering both their searing electric garage/psych and softer, acoustic garage/folk sides. Dating from 1967 and 1968, this features a lot of original material that the band recorded in Chicago studios, as well as some drummerless home demos. These are endearing (and still moving) relics of an age of great exuberance, innocence, and hope. Good harmonies on the psychedelic ballads, which have been described as "garage-band Donovan." One of the best reissues of unknown '60s garage/psychedelic music.
