While traveling to a resort in Tunisia, the magician and clairvoyant Professor Vestar befriends the idle millionaire Edouard Vangard and he offers a ride in his car. Vestar discloses to Edouard that he had had a premonition of a woman being murdered in a desert area. Meanwhile, the Tunisian architect and engineer Sadry Fahres has relationship problems with his spoiled wife Sylvia, who refuses to visit her mother-in-law that is terminal. Sadry meets his former mistress Martine and she travels with him to visit his mother, rekindling their passion. Edouard observers the behavior of the trio of lover and decides to help the vision of Professor Vestar to come true, intriguing each one of them to force the murder.

Michael, the son of a funeral director grows indifferent to his father and joins a Seminary. On his way to the course completion, he is overwhelmed by a strong lack of faith. His religious beliefs are further jolted when he sees a young girl haplessly dying in a road accident for whom he reluctantly performs the ritual to absolve her sins. His mentor still believes in him and urges him to go to Italy to take an exorcism course hoping that he it would strengthen his faith in Christianity. In Italy he attends a session from Father Xavier who soon becomes aware of his skepticism. As a result he sends him to an eminent Jesuit exorcist, Father Lucas, whose ways though questionable are quite effective. He witnesses the exorcism of a sixteen year old girl but still seems unconvinced. Father Lucas explains to him that it takes multiple sessions over a long stretch of time to completely free a victim from the demon. Despite witnessing some supernatural occurrences during the aforesaid exorcism…

Un peintre en bâtiment , Themroc, fait chaque matin les gestes automatiques du petit déjeuner, subit la pression de la pendule tyrannique, jette au passage un oeil de convoitise sur sa jeune soeur, et enfourche sa bicyclette. Il roule avec son copain, peintre comme lui. Ensemble ils pénètrent dans le flot du métro, et pointent régulièrement à l'usine. Un jour de travail ordinaire, notre peintre, occupé à regarder le flirt du patron avec une "hautaine secrétaire galbée", reçoit dans le nez la fenêtre, rageusement poussée par le patron. Vigoureusement encadré, il est emmené chez "le gentil directeur". Alors commence l'odyssée de Themroc. Il rugit dans les toilettes, s'enfuit telle une bête fauve de l'usine, provoque la perturbation et l'effroi partout où il passe. Puis il fabrique une tanière, d'où il descend grâce à une échelle de corde, pour aller chasser. Le film se termine par une orgie de "poulet" (de flic) à la broche, dans une atmosphère digne de Cromagnon.

This is often called the Japanese Godfather and it isn't far from the truth. It isn't as perfect as the Godfather movies, though. It takes some concentrating to keep up with all the power struggles, who just murdered whom etc.. It's a series well worth watching because the characters are great and the picture painted of the Yakuza after the second world war is a very realistic one.
Source is the remastered dvd boxset from "Home Vision Entertainment".
