Although Corey Dennison is considered a young gun in the blues world, he’s far from an amateur. Hailing from Chattanooga, Tennessee, he got his first guitar at the age of six. Weaned on a combination of blues and soul, Dennison spent a dozen years as a sideman for Carl Weathersby. In 2013, he struck out on his own, forming the Corey Dennison Band, and setting Chicago on its collective ear. They’ve been nominated at the BMAs for Best Emerging Artist Album, and won Best Blues Album at the 2016 Le Prix Blues Awards in France.

Sandy Dennison is a wise woman. On her debut CD, "Love You Madly," she sings 11 evergreens by Duke Ellington and his assorted collaborators. The choice of material is evidence of Dennison’s good taste, but she’s also smart enough to approach the songs in a straight-ahead, understated manner. Dennison knows that the songs are great, and she knows better than to mess with a good thing. "Love You Madly" arrives years after Dennison first started performing. She put her career on hold in the 1970s to raise a family and then a surgery left her unable to sing. She, however, still felt the desire to sing, and not long ago worked her way back to performing in clubs around Portland, Ore.

Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Corey Dennison spent a majority of his childhood moving about Tennessee and Georgia. As a young boy, Corey heard the powerful, soulful sounds of the Blues on late night radio programs and recalls being captivated by the music. He received his first guitar at the age of 6 and began to imitate the music of artists such as Gatemouth Brown, Albert Collins and Albert King.

The debut under bassist Tom Dennison's name is made up of seven post-bop tracks which are classy, refined, fluid, democratically distributed among the soloists and at times usefully challenging.

At 14 years old, Funky DL and his older brother permanently moved from living with their Mother in Hackney to living with their Father in London’s Borough of Newham. It was this significant change that would begin to shape the most formative years of his transition from childhood into adulthood and his relentless pursuit into the world of music.
