Blood Sugar Sex Magik is the fifth studio album by American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, released on September 24, 1991. Produced by Rick Rubin, it was the band's first record released on Warner Bros. Records. The musical styles of Blood Sugar Sex Magik differed notably from the techniques employed on the Chili Peppers' preceding album, Mother's Milk, and featured little use of heavy metal guitar riffs. The album's subject matter incorporated sexual innuendos and references to drugs and death as well as themes of lust and exuberance. Blood Sugar Sex Magik also ranked number 310 on Rolling Stone's the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" and number 14 on the "100 Best Albums of the Nineties".

Echoing the power, aggression, and highly charged political anger of the Clash's early work, the Red Rockers' debut album began a cult following - their guitars have teeth, the bass is loud and thick, the drums thump and the vocals cry - This is the essence of the band's five years as America's most pure punk band!

A brilliant and affectingly different collection of transcriptions of favourite Bach movements, at times uniquely exhilarating, at others showing Bach at his most expressively touching… Adams's recorder playing is musically dazzling…but the other players complete an ensemble which is delightfully fresh and alive.

Red Sand was created by guitarist Simon Caron. At age 18, he started a couple of progressive rock bands and then left the music scene for a while. Unable to stay away from prog very long, however, he started to write again, searched for a band to perform his music and was soon surrounded by seasoned musicians most willing to oblige. Thus Red Sand was born. What strikes the listener is how "early-Marillion" the band sounds without seeming to imitate them. The compositional style, breaks and moods, the Rothery-like guitar play and the Nolan-like keyboard flights all contribute to this impression - even the albums' artwork bears that early Marillion touch; yet for some reason, it all sounds very much Red Sand…

In these unsettled days Red Bazar return with the rather timely album Things as They Appear, which casts a critical observational eye on some contemporary issues. Red Bazar were one of Progressive Rock’s ‘Surprise packages’ in 2016 with their rather more Gothic, and first vocal, album "Tales from the Bookcase", largely based on stories by diverse writers such as Arthur Conan Doyle, Alistair Maclean and Arthur C. Clarke. "Things as They Appear" is a distinct contrast and progression, more direct and grounded in style and content, more reflective of some of the current frictions in society.
Red Bazar have bravely taken a different direction from their last album - this is no sequel to the fine "Tales from the Bookcase". Whilst they touch on important issues of our times, they have very wisely chosen not to take a partisan or obvious political position…

A Red Hot Chili Peppers album with John Frusciante is always an event. The guitarist returns to the Californian formation after twelve years of absence, the group donning the same trappings that made the successes of Blood Sugar Sex Magik in 1991 or Californication in 1999. Produced once again by Rick Rubin, Unlimited Love therefore reminds us of the most melodic of the Red Hot, greatly favoring precisely melancholy songs like Not The One or White Braids & Pillow Chair, even bordering on adolescent emotions. We also find there the dripping and metallic basses of Flea, virtuoso hubbub, on Here Ever After, already audible on a hit like By The Way in 2002. Rather than the tangy pop object that raged during Frusciante's recent absence, here is a group that reconnects with funk on Poster Child or with disco motifs on the excellent Aquatic Mouth Dance. This record smells of the 1990s, seems to emerge from spontaneous sessions like the title These Are The Ways, cut in the sound of the time. With a touch of modernity, the Red Hot Chili Peppers explore what has made them one of the most famous rock bands of recent decades, and deliver an album as an anti-wrinkle.
