The 1994 return of King Crimson was timed perfectly, matching, in no particular order, one of the peak periods for CD sales, a time of great variety of radio formats in the USA, the growth of a number of bands who pointed eagerly to the influence of King Crimson - especially of the 1972-74 band - a more positive critical reception for the band, following the remasters of the catalogue, Frame by Frame and Great Deceiver boxed sets supervised by Robert Fripp. Such timing not only benefited from the release of the various musicians from their other musical commitments, but in Robert Fripp's case, the ultimately successful battle to regain control of King Crimson's catalogue.

Quelle drôle d’idée a Mondonville ! D’après une fable de La Fontaine, aussi cruelle que tragique, il écrit un livret charmant, à la fin heureuse, et compose une aimable pastorale. Ici, contrairement à la fable, point de noblesse de cour mais celle du cœur : Daphnis, jeune berger se meurt d’amour pour Alcimadure, coquette villageoise éprise de liberté qui le dédaigne. Jeanet, frère de la belle, tente de la convaincre qu’il est le bienaimé idéal. Le loup qui terrorise le village s’en mêle. Tout va-t-il s’arranger à la fin ?

French gamba player Salomé Gasselin attended church services during the lockdown so she could at least hear live organ music. A piece by Henry du Mont caught her attention
"Allemande for organ or harpsichord and three viols, if desired". Should there possibly be more French works for viol consort than one thought, and as one knew it especially from the English neighbors? With "Récit," her debut album, Gasselin and her small ensemble explore viol repertoire hidden in organ and harpsichord music from the time of Louis XIV.

For this second recording, Salomé Gasselin has chosen Bach and Biber to explore the mysteries that lie not in what we cannot understand, but in what never ceases to reveal itself. She has transcribed the selected famous works for viol consort. To illustrate her approach, Gasselin quotes the organist Pierre Vidal from his book on Bach's organ works: "How can one rediscover the freshness, the life, the warmth, the spontaneity, the lived drama of the earlier composers if not with an inner vision?"

Led Zeppelin is an english rock band from the 1970's. Their 2nd album, Led Zeppelin 2, 1970, is the one which launched them into the limelight and led to several mainstream hits, such as "Whole Lotta Love", "What is and What Should Never Be", "Heartbreaker/Living Loving Maid", and, of course, "Ramble On". Their fusion of hard rock, blues, and outright innovation [or black blues thievery depending on who you ask] made this album essentially a hit list of songs that would receive heavy radio airplay for years to come. Unfortunatly, heavy distortion, though to be a result of recording or mastering at too high a volume [running the transients into the red] has resulted in many of the more intense moments, particularly Bonham's ballistic drum runs, sounding flabby and unpleasant. I must mention that despite Classic records best efforts, this distortion, which is now known to be part of the actual master tape [though apparently the multi's do not suffer from this], is still present. Classic Records co., who mastered this release, is a record mastering company specializing in audiophile Vinyl pressings [like this 200gram 33rpm example] , using a custom all tube cutting and mastering process from the original master tapes. They [CR] seek to perfectly replicate the original vinyl pressings in both sound and asthetics [cover art, liner notes, even paper texture, down to a creepy level of detail usually], while eliminating surface noise and gaining new clarity and quality of acoustics compared to standard releases. Very similar to MFSL in almost every meaningful regard, vinyl only obviously.
