This book is a study of the prose writings of Richard Wagner and their relevance to an understanding of his music and drama, as well as their relation to music criticism and aesthetics in the nineteenth century in general.

Working from the Poetic Edda, the Prose Edda, and Old Norse prose narratives and laws, Jenny Jochens argues for an underlying cultural continuum of a pagan pantheon and a set of heroic figures shared by the Germanic tribes in Europe, Britain, Scandinavia, and Iceland from A.D. 500 to 1500.

The album 'Chansons' features her own interpretations of classic French songs from both France and Québec. Jill meticulously curated the repertoire herself, selecting material from a long list of over thirty songs, drawn both from her own collection, and from recommendations from friends within the Francophone community. There are 12 covers of classic French songs from Québec and France, including songs by Edith Piaf, Serge Gainsbourg, and Charles Aznavour.

Die Aufnahmen hierzu entstanden in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks unter Mariss Jansons und gehören zu den letzten musikalischen Zeugnissen, die der erst kürzlich verstorbene Stardirigent – der noch im Oktober einen OPUS Klassik für sein Lebenswerk entgegennahm – hinterlässt.
