Das wohl legendärste Konzert der Kelly Family Bandgeschichte erscheint nun zum 30-jährigen Jubiläum erstmalig als Live-Album! 1994 haben die Kellys als Straßenmusiker die damals größte Halle Europas mit vollem Risiko selbst gebucht und mit 17.000 Menschen war die Dortmunder Westfalenhalle am 15. Mai komplett ausverkauft! Das war der Moment, wo sie wussten, dass sie nach etlichen Jahren auf der Straße endlich den Durchbruch geschafft haben. Die Setlist dieser Show war mit 32 Songs vollgepackt! Songs wie "An Angel", "First Time" und "Why Why Why" wurden hier bereits Live gespielt, obwohl sie erst Monate später auf dem Meilenstein Album „Over The Hump“ erscheinen sollten.

Nonesuch releases the first recording of John Adams’ 2017 opera, Girls of the Golden West, on April 26, 2024. Longtime Adams collaborator Peter Sellars created the opera’s libretto, drawing from original sources, and also directs this performance. The composer leads the LA Phil in this live recording from Disney Hall. Girls of the Golden West also features the Los Angeles Master Chorale, conducted by Grant Gershon, and a cast led by Julia Bullock, Davóne Tines, Paul Appleby, Hye Jung Lee, Elliot Madore, Daniela Mack, and Ryan McKinny.

East Meets West offers a series of geographical and musical connections that bind the music of Ian Krouse (“One of the most communicative young composers on the music scene today” – Gramophone) and Ronald Pearl, whose guitar music is performed worldwide. The album includes the first recording in its 2009 revision of Krouse’s Roderick Usher’s “Phantasmion”, as well as the eloquent tone poem, The Little Match Girl, and his version of a Hassidic song. Pearl’s My Name is Red is inspired by Orhan Pamuk’s novel and reveals a range of Islamic influences.

An unapologetically rowdy all-female rock band from the Pacific Northwest, Thunderpussy are a loud and proud quartet whose music combines a heavy dose of indie rock smarts and arena rock bombast with a dash of humor and plenty of showmanship. Thunderpussy were formed in Seattle, Washington in late 2013 by vocalist Molly Sides (formerly of This Bitch Don't Fall Off), guitarist Whitney Petty (a veteran of the Grizzled Mighty), Leah Julius (ex-Cumulus and Sundries), and drummer Lena Simon (also a member of La Luz and Kairos).
