Animal Kingdom is an American drama television series developed by Jonathan Lisco. It is based on the 2010 Australian film of the same name by David Michôd, who is an executive producer for the series, alongside Liz Watts, who also produced the movie.Alexis Dyan Marsh was born on October 11, 1982, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She is a composer, known for Animal Kingdom (2016), Next Gen (2018), and a songwriter, known for the band, DYAN. She moved from Toronto to Los Angeles to attend the USC Scoring for Motion Picture and Television program where she met Samuel Jones. Co-writing since 2010, Alexis & Sam write, perform, and produce their film scores out of a studio in Silver Lake, Los Angeles.

Alexis Andrew Nicholas Koerner known professionally as Alexis Korner, was a British blues musician and radio broadcaster, who has sometimes been referred to as "a founding father of British blues". A major influence on the sound of the British music scene in the 1960s, he was instrumental in the formation of several notable British bands including The Rolling Stones and Free. Korner was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the musical influence category in 2024.

Composing duo Alexis Marsh & Samuel Jones began their career collaborating with rising filmmakers in Los Angeles after graduating from USC’s Scoring For Motion Pictures and Television program in 2010. Alexis & Sam's first feature film score, for Jocelyn Towne's I Am I, introduced a DIY aesthetic of recording and performing each instrument at their home studio while marking their emergence as songwriters and producers with the film's main title song, 'Chances (Gone Too Soon)'.

The darkly alluring, deep ­toned voice that embraces these timeless melodies from the parlor song era and Tin Pan Alley days (roughly 1910 to the early 1920s) belongs to the wonderful Alexis Cole. Called “one of the great voices of today”, Alexis has been compared to classic jazz singers such as Sarah Vaughan and Anita O’Day. Cole is the recipient of a Swing Journal Gold Disc award, and has won the NY Jazzmobile and Montreux Jazz Festival vocal competitions.

It features my original compositions for piano and orchestra, and I’ve interspersed snippets of my favourite soul classics throughout the record as palette cleansers. I’ve always said that my soul icons such as Stevie Wonder and Etta James were my earliest teachers, and on this album, I’m pleased to merge my early influences with my signature classical-soul style.
