Lodewijk (Lo) van Gorp is a seasoned and seasoned musician (vocals, sax, arrangements) from Leiden. For years he was in Marco Borsato 's band , collaborated with, among others, Al Jarreau, Oleta Adams, Ladies of Soul and the Metropole Orchestra , appeared in dozens of TV programs in backing choirs and appeared on hundreds of stages. Van Gorp played as a session musician on a large number of CDs and was lead singer in The Princess Project .

Lady Wood is the second studio album by Swedish singer Tove Lo, released on 28 October 2016 by Island Records. Lady Wood consists of two chapters, "Fairy Dust" and "Fire Fade", which collectively describe the "different kinds of rushes in life". Lo considers it to be the first half of a two-piece double album, with the chapters "Light Beam" and "Pitch Black" announced for her upcoming third studio album in 2017. Lo co-wrote all twelve tracks included on the record; she collaborated with guest vocalists Wiz Khalifa and Joe Janiak, and producers including Rickard Göransson, Joel Little, and Ilya Salmanzadeh. "Cool Girl" was serviced as the lead single from Lady Wood on 4 August 2016, reaching number 15 in Sweden and number 84 on the US Billboard Hot 100. "True Disaster" was released on 15 November 2016 as the album's second single. The album peaked at number 11 on the US Billboard 200, becoming her highest-charting album in the country to date.

Venice's four famous "Ospedali" houses for orphans with a fundamental musical education and outstanding music ensembles andsoloists were among the city's most important cultural institutions for a long time. Many prominent musicians worked at the Ospedali,including the famous singer, singing teacher and opera composer Nicola Porpora. He worked at three of the four Ospedali between 1729 and 1747. At the so-called "Ospedaletto", he taught singing to several female students and also met the highly talented singerAngiola Moro, known as "Anzoletta". Porpora created some of the most demanding solo roles for her during his time at the Ospedaletto.The mezzo-soprano Jose Maria Lo Monaco, who has performed as an opera soloist (not only in baroque operas) on the world's greatstages, has taken on "Anzoletta's" parts and presents two cantatas and a Salve Regina on this recording. She is accompanied by theEnsemble Stile Galante under the direction of Stefano Aresi, which completes the program with Porpora's cello concerto, interpreted byAgnieszka Oszanca.
