Modern Times is the third album from the British creative spirit Elliot Galvin. If his previous trio album, The Influencing Machine was a more involved and produced album, then Modern Times completely redresses the balance. This is an album so immediate and instantaneous, it takes the same time to listen to as it did to make. Primarily produced for vinyl, each side was recorded in one complete sitting, with no break in between tracks, recorded direct to vinyl. As Elliot explains: ‘I had been making music with a lot of electronic instruments and becoming a bit disengaged with making acoustic music. Then I saw a solo piano concert by Jason Moran when I was in Montreux and I was so inspired. It reminded me why I loved making jazz and acoustic music. It was so immediate and human.

The Grandes Eaux de Versailles (The Versailles Fountains Show) is a selection of works from the new CDs and DVDs label “Château de Versailles Spectacles”: Les Arts Florissans, L’Europe galante, Le Devin du village, The Missa of Cavalli, “The Quarrel of the Te Deums” of Blanchard and Colin de Blamont, The Sun King Mass (DeLalande, Couperin, Lully), the Biber’s Missa Salisburgensis, the Lully’s Te Deum and Phaeton. Entirely recorded in the emblematic places of the Château, such as the Royal Opera, the Royal Chapel, La Cour de Marbre or the Little Queen's Theater (Trianon), you will find compositions interpreted by the best and most promising artists.
