PRIMAVERA IV the heart is the fourth of six albums in a momentous series encompassing 81 world premieres for solo cello. A collaboration between cellist Matt Haimovitz, artist Charline von Heyl, and director Jeffrianne Young, THE PRIMAVERA PROJECT is inviting 81 composers to respond to two paintings, Sandro Botticelli’s enigmatic painting, Primavera (ca. 1480), and the prophetic large-scale triptych, Primavera 2020, by world-renowned contemporary artist Charline von Heyl.

In 2023/2024 Albane Carrère will sing the roles of The Cup, the Dragonfly and the Shepherd in The Child and the spells by Ravel at the Avignon and the Tours opera houses, the roles of Mercedes and Annina in Italy on the stages of the operas houses of Lecce and Catania, and the role of Kate Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly, Puccini) at the Aix-en-Provence Festival.

This compilation includes selected works by the noted Renaissance composer Ludwig Senfl, who was an important student of Heinrich Isaac. In 1523 Senfl joined the Munich court orchestra at the court of Maximilian I, where he worked until his death. Singer Pur will perform these pieces at their Singer Pur Tage festival, and at the 2023 Medieval and Renaissance Music Conference in Munich.
