This 2CD set features the brilliant pianist Bill Evans with bassist Marc Johnson and Joe LaBarbera on drums live in concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina on September 27, 1979. A great deal of music by this trio has been released and I am not familiar with most of it, but the music on this CD is so good that I doubt there are many recordings of this group that are significantly better. If you like the 2 volumes of the Paris Concert you will like this. In fact I think it is a bit superior to those recordings.

Two entire sets brought together on a double live album. A concert in its entirety to enjoy at home to rediscover the closeness and complicity of the musicians on stage and the intimacy of a jazz club in its living room.
This is the new album offered by pianist Fred Nardin, with the Jazz Family label, to celebrate the five years of existence of his trio with his accomplices Or Bareket and Leon Parker to rediscover under a different prism, the time of a concert, the music that composes the two previous albums of their formation: Opening & Look Ahead as well as some unreleased ones.
A new album without artifice or music, mastery, complicity, energy, osmosis and risk-taking are the key words.

Recorded in stereo by Radio France at La Esplanade de La Défense (July 17, 1983) and Le Petit Opportun (February 7, 1984). Both concerts are distinguished by the dazzling playing of the virtuosic pianist Michel Graillier, who performed regularly with Baker’s combos from 1977 until Baker’s death in 1988.
