Of course, "Pop Muzik" was the only song on M's debut album, New York-London-Paris-Munich, to become a big hit ("Moonlight and Muzak" and "That's the Way the Money Goes" were minor chart entries in the U.K.), but there's actually quite a bit of entertaining music on the record. Granted, the sound of the record is more entertaining than the songwriting, but with its synthesized, danceable beats, big, catchy hooks, and glossy "futuristic" production, it's a terrific new wave artifact. Collectables' Pop Muzik is a retitled reissue of M's debut album, New York-London-Paris-Munich.

Multi-instrumentalist and studio wizard Robin Scott is M, and if all you know of his work is the synth pop, new wave hit "Pop Muzik," History: Pop Muzik – The 25th Anniversary will be quite the surprise. There's guitar, worldbeat, moments much more serene than "Pop Muzik" hinted at, and believe it or not, swear words! The five tracks from M's debut, New York-London-Paris-Munich, give you your fill of "Pop Muzik"'s robotic boogie-woogie, but after that Scott became less fun and more paranoid with something to say.

In February 2010, the late, legendary musician, poet and author Gil Scott-Heron released his thirteenth, and last, studio album. First conceptualised in 2005, and ultimately produced by XL Recordings head Richard Russell during New York recording sessions that commenced in January 2008, I'm New Here was Scott-Heron's first album in thirteen years and found him sounding as vital, boundary-pushing and insightful as ever before. On 7th February 2020 - the tenth anniversary of I'm New Here's release - XL Recordings will release a limited-edition, expanded version of the album.
