'Happy Ending' is a psychedelic electronic soul soundtrack written and recorded at the top of an East London tower block and mixed in a beach house on the south coast.

"Dark Sky Paradise" is the third studio album by American rapper Big Sean. The album features guest appearances from Kanye West, Drake, Ariana Grande, Chris Brown, Ty Dolla Sign, Jhené Aiko, PartyNextDoor, Lil Wayne, John Legend and E-40, while the production was handled by a variety of collaborators, including Key Wane, DJ Mustard, DJ Dahi and Kanye West, who also serves as the album's executive producer alongside Big Sean himself. It debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, and in February 2016, the album was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

The son of a pastor, David Bazan wasn't introduced to secular music until after his early youth, which helps explain the Christian-influenced songwriting of his band project, Pedro the Lion. Bazan formed the group in 1995, mixing first-person narratives and nuanced indie rock with contributions from a rotating cast of musicians. Based in Seattle, the group released four albums, beginning with 1998's It's Hard to Find a Friend and concluding with 2004's Achilles Heel. Bazan stopped using the name in early 2006, but his musical aspirations continued with several other outfits, as well as a solo career.

Born Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques. Sean Paul has a multiracial background. He states that "My heritage is mixed up. My mother's mother was born in Coventry, England, but the rest of my grandparents were born in Jamaica. My mother's father is Chinese and my father's father is mixed with white and Portuguese. My father's mother is mixed with black and white." This includes Sephardic Jewish heritage. Both his parents are Jamaican natives. His nicknames include "Movin Easy", "City Kitty Controller", "S Peezy", "Di gal dem overall". Sean Paul's voice and style of singing is often compared to Jamaican 1990s dancehall sensation Super Cat.
