After cornering the hard rock market in 1975 with the international success of Hair of the Dog, Nazareth surprised fans and listeners alike the next year when they traded that style for a softer, more AOR approach on Close Enough for Rock & Roll…

This was the 1976 attempt by the New Trolls to repeat the success of their 1971 album "Concerto Grosso Per I New Trolls" (sometimes referred to as 'Concerto Grosso No. 1').
While the 'concerto grosso' on the 1971 album has four movements (well, three really: three rock-classical fusion pieces plus a coda that rehashes the second movement's theme in the style of Hendrix), the 'concerto grosso' on "Concerto Grosso No. 2" has three movements, the remaining five tracks on the album not being part of it.
The 1971 album's concerto has a Vivaldi feel to it, whereas this album's concerto has a hint of the Bach or Mozart about it, plus a slight classical Spanish feel in the third movement…

We Sold Our Soul for Rock 'n' Roll is a good single-disc collection of many – but not all – of Black Sabbath's best tracks from the Ozzy Osbourne era, drawing about half of its material from the group's first two albums, Black Sabbath and Paranoid. That makes it ideal for the fan who only wants one Black Sabbath disc, but those who want to dig deeper should be advised that all six LPs from the Osbourne period contain high-quality items not present here, especially the under-represented Master of Reality and Vol. 4. Still, there's no quibbling with what is here.

"Close Enough For Rock 'N' Roll" was the seventh studio album by the Scottish rock band Nazareth, released in 1976. The album title refers to a saying among guitar players: it doesn't matter if your guitar is fully in tune, as long as its "close enough for rock n' roll".

In 1975 Fabrizio De André called Gianni Belleno, Ricky Belloni and Giorgio Usai (from the band "Nuova Idea") and Giorgio D'Adamo for his Italian tour: the New Trolls lacking components were only Vittorio and Nico, which were contacted in 1976 and decided to join the band again. In the same year New Trolls published an anthology of their hits and "Concerto Grosso n°2": Luis Bacalov and Sergio Bardotti proposed to go on with the musical experiment started in 1971 and the success was immediate. Japanese reissue of the progressive rock act's 1991 album.

The second of five LPs that find Horace Silver's Quintet (which by 1976 featured trumpeter Tom Harrell and tenor-saxophonist Bob Berg) augmented by a group of other players, this set has six reeds and two trombones, giving Silver more tone colors to work with than usual. The two sidelong works ("The Tranquilizer Suite" and "The Process of Creation Suite") are not all that memorable but the music overall (helped out by strong solos) is typical Silver hard bop.
