Metamatic Records' first major compilation of John Foxx material is the first part of a double release spanning 35 years as a solo artist. John Foxx 20th Century: The Noise covers the years from his debut single Underpass in January 1980 to the rest of the last century, up to his comeback albums with Louis Gordon, Shifting City and The Omnedelic Exotour in 1997 and 1998. There's also a precious Cathedral Oceans gem, Splendour which has only ever been available on a rare album by various artists entitled Orphée and 20th Century also includes an unreleased instrumental track from the vaults, Musique Electron a melodic idea Foxx has had for decades.

A secret life is a work of exquisite poise, in the spirit of the ambient albums that early ultravox member John Foxx recorded with Harold Budd, translucence and drift music. This album has a Budd connection, as it happens - it was after performing with him in 2005 that Foxx and former japan drummer Steve Jansen began collaborating together, but the tracks they worked on remained unfinished until producer steve D'Agostino completed them last year.

Shape Of Things is a collaboration between Foxx and electronic composer and synthesizer collector, Benge (Ben Edwards). The latter is best known for his 2008 album Twenty Systems, which was described by Brian Eno as a brilliant contribution to the archeology of electronic music. The follow-up to their critically acclaimed Interplay album (2011), was recorded and mixed at Benge's studio in London.

'Intuition' is the third studio album by actor and R&B singer Jamie Foxx. It was released on December 16th 2008 in the United States under J Records. Man’s Intuition, as Foxx describes it, will focus on the needs and wants of the opposite sex. "On my radio show I have this panel of beautiful women and they were talking about how men with a lot of money aren't all that. But if a guy has no money, that's no good either”, Foxx explained. So I was thinking, 'What does a woman want? We go from there and build the story and the songs". The lead single released on November 11th 2008 is 'Just Like Me'. It debuted at No.48 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and peaked at No.20. The second single 'She Got Her Own', featuring Ne-Yo & Fabolous was released on December 14th 2008. The album debuted at No.3 on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling 265,000 copies in its first week. It has currently sold about 414,000 copies so far.

Former Ultravox leader John Foxx continues to explore his minimal, electronic pop on The Pleasures Of Electricity. Taking a cue from Kraftwerk, one of Foxx's most obvious stylistic touchstones, Pleasures is a streamlined monorail of lock-step computer-generated beats and wiry synthesizer melodies with an equal emphasis on dark, atmospherics and energized, danceable rhythms.
