Mit Elgar präsentiert der preisgekrönte britische Cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason ein brandneues Album mit Werken rund um Elgars Cellokonzert – das wohl bekannteste im Kanon der klassischen Werke für Solocello, das in diesem Monat das 100-jährige Jubiläum seiner Uraufführung feierte. Zusammen mit dem international renommierten London Symphony Orchestra und seinem berühmten Musikdirektor, Dirigent Sir Simon Rattle, nahm Sheku das Cellokonzert in den Abbey Road Studios auf.

Other highlights come from posthumously-acclaimed Sunshine Pop maestros Design, a trio of music library recordings by the largely overlooked but hugely talented backroom auteur Barbara Moore and, perhaps most intriguingly of all, the first-ever release of The Sweet's first demo recording, cut when they were still known as Sweetshop.

Billed as containing 60 Hits from the Chilled Generation, Sony Music's Silence Is Golden collection rounds up an evocative set of laid-back '60s nuggets primarily gleaned from the era's prosperous folk-rock scene. Highlights include classic rock radio fodder like the Moody Blues' "Nights in White Satin" and Simon & Garfunkel's "Sound of Silence," as well as lesser known gems from the Move ("Flowers in the Rain"), Pentangle ("Light Flight"), and Honeybus ("I Can't Let Maggie Go").

In 2016, Cherry Red’s psychedelic imprint Grapefruit Records released the 3CD set ‘Let’s Go Down And Blow Our Minds’, a hugely successful, widely-acclaimed anthology of lysergically- inclined music made in Britain during the epochal year of 1967. In response to the many requests we’ve received, here’s the long-awaited second volume, housed like its predecessor in a clamshell box with a lavishly annotated and illustrated 48- page booklet. Featuring 79 mind-melting tracks from British psychedelia’s key year, ‘Too Much Sun Will Burn’ covers all bases, incorporating the era’s big hitters (The Move, The Who, Small Faces, ISB, Pretty Things, The Zombies), huge singles (Traffic, Procol Harum, The Hollies, Eric Burdon & The Animals, The Troggs), cult 45s (Paper Blitz Tissue, Made In Sheffield, Caleb and many others) and such future legends as Bowie, Genesis, Alex Harvey and Elton John, with a track from his legendary aborted debut LP ‘Regimental Sgt. Zippo’.

John Porter once again recorded the album "silently" - without media noise, loud promotion. Probably because the material for the Honey Trap is not specifically media - say, an elderly man twang guitar, accompanied by several other "gingerbread", and to reach for worldwide hackneyed themes of Americana, country, blues and rock 'n' roll. If we treat this album just as it will commit a big mistake. Long ago no one in our not delivered as racial disc.
