The tenth studio album by British progressive rock mainstay IQ shows them at their best, and with a definite edge.Is it possible that a band, like a good wine, can continue to improve with age?Can you possibly top legendary albums such as The Wake,Subterranea or Frequency? After just one listen to IQ´s tenth studio album the answer is a resounding Yes! Without doubt The Road Of Bones is a unique masterpiece, fitting perfectly into the band's impressive body of work whilst adding a new perspective.IQ's secret has always been to evolve their style while maintaining the essence of the band's own unique brand of progressive rock:strong guitars embedded in lush keyboard melodies,a pounding yet still jazz-influenced rhythm section and the distinctive vocals and unmistakable lyrics of frontman Peter Nicholls.
Any hardcore fan of hard rock will certainly be no stranger to the story of Joe Lynn Turner’s career. From his early days with Fandango to his successful stints fronting Rainbow, Deep Purple, and Yngwie Malmsteen and through his heralded solo career, the New Jersey-born singer has had his vocal talents on display for decades now. Years ago, Joe Lynn Turner got in touch with Frontiers’ President Serafino Perugino and after discussions between the two, the idea of unearthing some classic melodic rock gems to craft the definitive Joe Lynn Turner AOR album came about. This brought about the release of the first SUNSTORM album in 2006, and then came “House of Dreams” in 2009, “Emotional Fire” in 2012, and the definitively more hard rocking “Edge Of Tomorrow” in 2016. The new album, “Road To Hell”, once again featuring production from Hardline’s Alessandro Del Vecchio and guitars by prog metaller titans DGM’s Simone Mularoni, continues in the same hard rock direction that was started on “Edge Of Tomorrow” and that Joe Lynn Turner’s vocal talents shine so brightly in when performing this style.
Hard rocking blues, featuring Andy Watts' virtuoso guitar, Dov Hammer's soulful harmonica and vocals and some unique original songwriting. The Blues Rebels began in 2012 as a one-time friendly jam between two veteran Blues artists – guitarist Andy Watts and singer/harmonica player Dov Hammer – but the immediate chemistry between the two and the powerful stage show that resulted was undeniable. The Blues Rebels soon became one of the hottest Blues bands on the scene, playing with world-class Blues artists such as Joe Louis Walker, Lucky Peterson and Bernard Allison. The band was also chosen to open for the legendary Johnny Winter, who told the band how impressed he was by their performance.
A unique blend of soulful Blues and funk with hard driving Blues-rock, produced by legendary Blues artist Joe Louis Walker! For this album, the band decided to re-connect with Blues hall-of-fame member Joe Louis Walker, who had played several shows with them in 2013. Walker returned to Israel in the winter of 2016 to produce the album, which contains 12 new compositions by Dov Hammer and Andy Watts, featuring the bands signature sound, incorporating Blues, rock and funk, and includes a special guest appearance by Joe Louis Walker himself. Track 13 is a real bonus - an electronic remix of a Blues Rebels song ("well run dry"), taking this raw, downhome Blues to the chillout stratosphere ! Check out this unique fusion of seemingly conflicting styles.
