This is a great blues album featuring Steve Bulger, harp & vocals; Marc Marrewa, guitar,; Rollin Rodgers, bass; Mark "Doc" Holladay, Hammond M3 organ; and, DJ Jackson, drums. Six very cool originals and four covers.

Leon Vynehall returns with new album Rare Forever, the follow up to 2018's critically acclaimed debut Nothing Is Still. Rare, Forever will feel familiar for fans of Vynehall’s DJ-Kicks mix or his eclectic excursions on NTS, while simultaneously sounding unlike anything he’s ever done before. As much as there are dancefloor memories and moments, it’s not strictly a dance record — instead, Rare, Forever is the clearest representation of the broad spectrum of music he’s made to date, deftly weaving newer shades of post-punk, ambient, techno and drone.

It is possibly her most vulnerable accompanying piece yet, revealing early demos, lyric changes, musical alterations, draftings, and even spoken-word origin poems that proceeded the songs.

Epic/Legacy's double-disc set The Ultimate Ted Nugent falls short of its billing for a couple of reasons. First of all, even if the sound is very good, there are no liner notes – just shots of Ted doing his guitar-face on-stage, plus pictures of his Epic albums. Second, this concentrates just on his Epic recordings, without dipping into the Amboy Dukes, while also ignoring latter-day recordings for other labels, including his manly tribute to the great hunter, "Fred Bear" (if you live in Michigan, where you can't go a day in hunting season without hearing this song, you know this is a crucial omission). So, what do you get? A double-disc collection of Ted the "wildman" at his peak – which is good for those that just want the prime and the prime only, but it's a bit much for those that just want hits. As far as music goes, it's pretty good, since it does have those basic hits, but it's still a bit much and it could have been produced with a bit more care.

Rina Sawayama blesses us with her latest genre bending record SAWAYAMA. This album fuses heavy rock, house, pop, industrial electronic and 90s electro-dance. Dynasty is the opening track, a cinematic piece that starts quietly but erupts into a heavy rock anthem. This aggressive rock motif is carried further on STFU!, a jarring, hyper-volatile track where the instability of the verse/chorus genres coupled with the unusual harmony make for an interesting listen. Things take a stylistic turn on the album’s hit single Comme des Garcons (Like the Boys) which opens with the mix engineer asking ‘can I just record you doing that?’ This song is a true pleasure to listen to, featuring a mixture of funk, house, pop, disco, all held together by a tight modern production.
