With Player's Club, saxophonist Marion Meadows has created a warm, congenial environment, distinguished by his trademark blend of smooth-jazz, R&B and funk. The title track finds Meadows’ soprano and tenor saxes driven by a funky bass line and baritone sax, and Meadows floats sweet, wistful soprano sax over a slow-simmering groove on “Sweet Grapes”. The ballads “Suede” and “Romantica” exhibit Meadows’ lyrical side, and things get livelier on “After 6:00” and “Diggable”; the former track features a sprightly, catchy melody, while on the latter, spirited sax rides an equally energetic house beat. Guitarist Chieli Minucci appears on two tracks; he contributes Spanish guitar to the sultry Latin number “Noche Privada”, and provides delicate accompaniment on the ballad “Deska”, Meadows’ heartfelt valentine to his wife. There’s much to enjoy on Player's Club, an inviting place that fans will undoubtedly want to visit again and again.

Baby 81 is an album by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. It is their fourth studio album and was released on April 30, 2007 in Europe and on May 1, 2007 in the U.S.. The album features a harder, more raw sound compared with their previous record Howl. It was also a studio comeback for drummer Nick Jago who was unable to participate during the recordings of Howl (other than the last track recorded during the sessions, 'Promise'). A DualDisc edition of the album was set to be released on May 1 in the U.S.; however, it has since been canceled. The album debuted at number 46 on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling about 14,000 copies in its first week.
